you pay only once? no rent or such things?

don't know.
for that reason? why would you buy an alpaca?
besides the fact that it's so coolllllllllllll
and gave you proper reason to make a discussion ;)

9pounds? Good for you, but when you are giving money to a farmer to pretend that an animal is yours for a year, how can you say that you got a good deal. Who says that full price is 20pounds? Where I am, it costs about 50pounds; 10% off coupons are issued very rarely. Do you see where I am going with this? Go ahead and feel good about your donation but be careful about letting others trick you into thinking you got a "good deal" and treat you like a fool.

Instead, I want to focus on the selfless donation that you made to something disconnected from your own realm. Good for you. Discounts and deals are meaningless. What is meaningful is that your hard-earned resources are directed to an effective cause (feeding and upkeep for the animal, rather than being wasted in administrative costs.)

That is one of the best ones I've seen in quite some time!:)

We all miss oddllama but isn't this a little extreme?

Isn't she a cutie and also where I live you can adopt animals in a similar manner so even in economic hard times they get cared for in a proper manner. :-)
But it is possible here that animals move from location (even to another European country) for breeding purposes especially if they are on the endangered species list. It has to do with avoiding inbreeding.
EDIT: I know that lama's spit if they are upset, I wonder if alpaca's do the same? :-)

Now that I read your post I see that I needed to use the word spitting (English is not my native language).
