Thexder and Kings Quest are the first couple video games I ever played, on the Tandy 1000 my mom bought a bit before I turned 5, in 1986.

Toejam and Earl is probably my most favourite game. Endless amounts of hours I played that game in my childhood, and to this day STILL play the original!

System Shock (1994). Yeah, I mean the first game, everyone should take it, 'cause it the best FPS of 90s :)
And it's officially free: https://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=211.0
And after that you should try the second game :)

This topic is a bit strange, for me. When I was a kid, videogames hadn't been invented, yet. For that matter, computers hadn't been invented, yet.
When I was older, though, we did a lot of pencil-and-paper RPG's. AD&D, Traveler, GURPS....
Then videogames came along. Asteroid, Space Invaders, Pac Man....
And when the ATARI 2600 came out, later, we played that for hours on end, especially Combat.

Descent Freespace: The Great War, a space simulator published by Interplay and developed by Volition Inc. in 1998. This game just so happens to be my all-time and irreplaceable favorite game that had forever shaped my adoration for video games and my love for space simulators. Never in my entire gaming career have I played a game's story mode 80 times over than in the Freespace series. The game brought tears of gaming bliss to my eyes and more than a thousand hours of nonstop engaging dogfights, creative modding, and indelible, nostalgic cutscenes that continue to wow me. For its time, the game had excelled far beyond many other space simulators could fathom.
