If you have a friend or two to replay with, then definitely. The little additions like slopes and half-bricks are great for people like me who obsess over home decoration, while the extra content helps pad out the game that bit better. Then again, it was absolutely ages since I last played Terraria, so if you're still burned out, I'd leave it for a little while.
My only problem with starting a new character for a third time is that I've already made my "perfect base", in the shape of a surprisingly compact-yet-tall mages tower, and in the world before that, I made a cool little village. Everything I try to make now seems to pale in comparison, but I'm slowly getting there.

You should try it again. When i tried it i said "haha! graphics are more unique", "whoa, new terrain angles", "whoaaa new ores!", "whoaaa we can apply dyes on clothes", "a-ha parasol?" and something like that.
tip: try to hit terrain and building blocks with your hammer.

I played like 30 hours after the new update with a friend! had lots of fun but we got almost the best gear and I got the really MOST op weapon currently in game(vampire knives) and so I literally became immortal, tanking bosses and stuff, while my friend stays a bit off playing the role of the mage dealing the damages and it was lots of fun,but we eventually got bored of it and we went back to playing LoL :D

I played the shit out from Terraria back then, so I got sick of it and never played it again.
After 1.2 came out, I was constantly nagged by my people "Come play it! Come on! It will be fun!"
I didn't wanted to, but eventually they convinced me.
I began to play it and I must say, it's truly amazing. Lots and lots of new content that allows you to live in the biome you want to live, literally any biome. I won't spoil anything for you, but if you want my honest opinion: Get it for sure, just don't spoil it for others
TL;DR: Fuck yes.

I lost all of my world and character data back when my harddrive went out so I had to restart from scratch. I gotta say, it's been a very enjoyable second time around.
My recommendation, if you have your old characters still, is to make a new world and take a quick run to see if it has the new alternate to Corruption, called Crimson. I gotta say it's a pretty neat addition and I think I like it more than the Corruption as far as looks and the new boss with it go.

Good luck dealing with it later in the game, though.. :P

We played Terraria with my gf and stopped a long while ago after "beating" hard mode and getting bored of it.
Now we'd be considering restarting from scratch if that new update is really worth it.
So I ask steamgifters who have been trying it out, does 1.2 make it worth starting a new world?
