some of you may know this, after purchasing a huge amount of gifts steam will limit your gift purchases, for example you'll be able make only 10 gift transactions in a week.....
you can't find anything about this in steam "rules" and policies and it pretty much only happens to traders and people who buy / sell games in bulk.
but there is something almost know one has info about, how does steam limit these accounts?
we know that steam does not flag the account but they somehow flag or mark the computer (and not only the IP address, probably Hard Disk SN,or Windows SN maybe )
does anyone have any info about this? like how they do it and what exactly they flag?

steam support don't answer to these question and they don't "fix" this :D
i know that with a VPS we can easily bypass this limitation but i want to know how exactly they do it :D

I've seen 10 an hour buying with my linked bank card and 5 an hour with my linked PayPal account. Never had 10 a week, though after doing a lot of purchases for a price error item, I was blocked from purchasing for several days until the error was fixed.

The limit of 10 isn't also applying for the limit of same games bought in a short time?

As far as I know, I never encountered a limit - I'm not a big buyer. I've bought this week more than 10 gifts and didn't get blocked, It must be related to a shorter period of time.

Valve doesn't like money. People still try to keep throwing it at them. I guess drowning in the green sea is awful.
