Alpha channel is defined in the wrroofintdecal.dds itself, it´s not linked to normal maps. As you already found the corresponding texture you could try and fix it yourself, you´ll likely need the .dds plugin for whatever editing software you use :)

I have neither, but have you tried searching the Textures > Archetucture > Whiterun Folder? I think this is your best bet, or just browse the files for the 2k texture mod? should have a pretty obvious name. :)
I rather use Optimezed textures as a base to reduce stutter (and crashing on original - who needs SSE anyways 😜) and add high res on top of it. :)
Edit: alternatively you could try running Xedit or the CK and look for the Breezehome entry and remove it for ELFX.

Modders need SSE. With a 64bit engine you don't have to work around the limitations of the engine.

yeah, might be true. BUT unfortunately there are many mods that needs porting and tons of other that won't get ported (thanks to copyrights or something 😭) SKSE64 is also still not out and the beta is supposed to be released next month. sigh.
and has some other flaws to deal with, like textures causing CTDs now and in my rather short mod testing with an almost vanilla game it was crashing way too much IMO. But the biggest flaw is probably the Mods not beeing ported over..... (50% of my LO will probably not make it. lol)
however flying through the map worked amazingly well and fluid, which would never be the case in the original. :P

I put some Skyrim in my mods
No words more truthful than those have been said before.
Well the holes are still there, the background image has just been switched from grey-white-ish to black, if you know anyone with basic mod creation knowledge it should be an easy fix

If you use a competent mod manager like Mod Organizer you can pick an choose textures from different texture packas relatively easily. It takes a bit of effort to learn how to handle properly though but it's well worth the effort imho. Gopher has made some very good tutorials if you're interested.

look up in the mod folder and search file "wrroofintdecal.dds" (textures/architecture/whiterun)
turn the black into trasparent with a graphic sofware or just delete the file

Go to TESedit. Select all mods, all files in the first list and accept. Wait the program to load everything. If you have a lot of mods have a little bit of patience. Wait until it says "background loader: finished".
Select everything, right click, then other, then "Create merge patch". Called merge 1 or something like that. This maybe helps, although I don't think it's for that.
Enter in wrye bash and rebuild the bash patch.

I used it and I have no idea about modding. Maybe you also messed up the instalation of ELFX, because it has a lot of micro compatibility patches. Use loot, use wrye bash, make a merge patch, use loot again and run tesedit. This is my order when I put some mods. You'll need to merge if you use custom meshes and items (armor, weapons, reskins of clothes, etc).
I also used Mod Organizer but, at the end, it's the same.

I like that effect added by ELFX. As you see in the pictures I tried it with vanilla textures. I also tried the 2k texture pack without ELFX and the black texture is still there. Removing the texture file, as some peope suggested, worked flawlessly, so it seems to be a mistake in that particular texture file (wrroofintdecal.dds, thanks SirDaevid). I don't need to merge anything in this case since it is only a texture pack, without any plugin. Maybe I could have used wrye bash for an incompatibility I found between SMIM and Ruins Clutter Improved regarding missing textures in candles, but I solved it just letting Ruins Clutter overwrite the candle texture files.
Thanks for the guide, I will give an eye on it^^

Pics should explain my issue better than I can express it with these words.
Anyway, if I install the 2k textures mod, which greatly improves Bethesda's official high resolution textures, the holes in the roof of Breezehome are fixed. That can sound good, since nobody likes living in a house full of holes, but I really want to install Enhanced Lights and FX, which makes Skyrim look really pretty without the need of using ENB. And that mod thinks the holes are there, and makes the sun lights the room in a beautiful way... but there are not holes! >_< So https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/UDdxv/lumino-city how can I bring my loved holes back to the roof?
EDIT: I started reading the bug section of the mod and found someone that posted the file with the alpha channel :D
