Which one did you like most? For me Warrior Within is the best by far.

The 2008 reboot (Thief prince) was a great game. Beautiful scenery and graphics, interesting character (unlike other princes, this one was quirky and arrogant but also likable) and I specially liked how they decided to approach battles - instead of prince vs 32 random henchmen, a 1v1 with combo moves and proper dueling combined with Elika's powers was a new direction for the Prince games. It was a good experience, and I wouldn't mind seeing sequel/prequels of this character.

Also, your list is missing the 3D prince of persia game which came out sometime after the og 1989 version. That one was god horrible and utterly convoluted though, so I guess it's not much of a loss.

+1

I enjoyed pretty much everything about the 2008 game. Characters, story, combat, the level/world design, graphics. <3

+1. Shame they did not think PC customers deserved that DLC.

Yea, I ended up just watching someone else play the DLC on Youtube, but would have gladly paid for it if it had been available. The main game was a masterpiece other then combat and the ending. An absolute joy to explore.

The retail version being DRM-free made it one of the few physical PC games I've bothered collecting over the last 10 years.

I loved the new powers and awesome platforming mechanics of the last game Forgotten Sands. Just boggled the mind. But WW has the best story and flow of all. The world, the mood, the soundtrack, the objectives....the enemies and combat. Very, very deeply satisfying. And alternate ends.

What I loved about Warrior Within is the flow of story, mood, Soundtrack and concept. One of the most brilliantly executed Time Travel runs in games as the Prince attempts to escape Dahaka, the keeper of Fate. Having tampered with Sands of Time in the first game in India, he should have died but he cheated fate and reversed everything using the sands. Fate cannot be denied and so a greater horror chases him to ensure Fate's writ is done. As he travels between past and present seeking a way - in the one place where Sands of Time were created where all timelines converge - some very interesting twists are sprung in the story. The way the threads conclude how things come full circle in terms of events is absolutely edge of seat stuff. And take it from me - whenever Dahaka shows up to claim you and you need run for your life to survive [as the initial trailer of Prince running shows] its downright scary. You actually feel fear as a player and a split second hesitation is all it takes to end it. And the alternate endings that requires you to play one third of the game again to traverse a different path is also brilliant. One end where you stop running and face Dahaka finally and one where you do not need face it and get to change your fate again. Not a single dull or a senseless moment in here. Escaping Dahaka in some half a dozen high voltage well obstacled and set chases becomes the biggest highlight of the game.

The 4th PoP which was not part of the other 4 Sands of Time themed games was also very different and beautiful. The mechanics were different. The approach open world so you don't have to approach in a linear way. The game is actually a journey of 2 people as they discover each other, love, companionship and their souls engage. The combat is repetitive, the Bosses though limited force you to combat 5 times in each of the 4 worlds. The game starts very slow and boring and maintains it;s own pace throughout. But thats why it was most different. It had a very beautiful world and looked like a lyrical poetry. There are long dialogues between the 2 characters as they travel and fight together trying to save a Princess Kingdom from falling to dark forces. There is a lot of intense engagement. The mission and combat seem secondary to the soulful banter of these 2. It slowly grows on your and pulls you into their world. At no time do you feel you need hurry and be in urgency. The game is sheer magic once you get the hang of it. I wish games had this level of balance now and the choice to play it which way you want where you decide the urgency or your pace. Where you can just decide to not do anything and soak in the beauty of the atmosphere at times. Very beautiful storyline as they restore corrupted lands to it's former natural beauty vanquishing Gods of darkness and corruption.

Super Prince of Persia. It remixed the classic version, fixes some annoyances, and also adds a bunch of levels. I've played all the classic ones, and If you're going to play any Prince of Persia game from the original to the original 3D one, it's probably the only one worth your time.

Voted "Sands of Time".

I love the gameplay (very original at the time), love the soundtrack... But what really makes me vote for it is the interplay between the 2 main characters -- I love the way they bond through the game, so the resolution hits all the right notes.

Edit: Happy Cake Day!

Sands of Time remains one of my favorite games ever, I have a horrible memory but I still remember the ending to that one. WW didn't quite have the magic of this one but to each their own.

Sands of Time. I was too young for the old games, Warrior Within was too hack & slash-y, Two Thrones didn't run on my PC. Bough the modern ones eventually, and honestly, the 2008 reboot looks like something I may enjoy, despite lacking any sort of challenge with its handholding mechanic. (Which, ironically, has become industry standard now.)

Never played the classics, but I found Warrior Within the best. I know, review sites consider it the worst of the new trilogy, but I thought it had a better combat mechanic than Sands of Time and I prefered the "edgier" atmosphere to the softer one in The Two Thrones.

Yup. +1. I found it most thrilling. The Dahaka chase mechanics and combo move were worlds superior to the remaining 2.

Revelations is Warrior Within, and Rival Swords is Two Thrones. But yes, the the NDS ones, the sidescroller for PSP version of Forgotten Sands, the PoP 3D and PoP 2 are missing.

Revelations has more content. Even if it looks slightly worse than PS2 version, it still might be considered the better one
Rival Swords is also for Wii, and its slightly worse graphically than Revelations. (i guess i could ignore this one)

You missed Prince of Persia 2 "The Shadow and the Flame" (the PC version is on par with the classic IMHO, hard as nails), and the crappy Prince of Persia 3D.

I really enjoyed the classic and Sands of Time.
