The rerolled 2nd winner tells me the key from IG is dupe, should I suspect the first winner who saw the code, or does it happen sometimes with IG? I use the site for several months and all the keys were perfect, but I don't want to blame an innocent guy. Also how can I prove anything in any case? :)

Did you ever get duplicate keys from IndieGala?

View Results
Oh, yaa((
No, neber!

Hard to say with your situation who you should trust, but I have had about 3 duplicate keys from IndieGala in the past, while my boyfriend has had 2 duplicates (neither of us has had any problems with HB, just IG). Support has always been nice enough to provide me with a new key though. I would contact IG support and see if you can get an extra key from them for the second winner.

+1 Had 2 dup. keys so far, but IG support has always helped me out with new working ones.

Very hard to prove :/
Never had problems with IG tho. Had a duplicate with DIG (at least the winner said it's a duplicate) once and they refunded it :)
Did you check if the first winner activated the key on his steam account?

he did, cause he had just won the same title previously, that's why the rerolling occured!

It's also possible that they activated your key instead of the other one by mistake and asked for the wrong GA to be re-rolled - I've seen this before.

ahh well then.. don't think you'll ever find out the truth, so best bet is to ask IG for a new key :)

Can you not look at the inventory of the first winner and see if they have the game now. They should not have had it in theory if they were able to enter. Also if you type the key into Steam doesn't it give you some details as to what account has the key? Sorry I do not have concrete detail as I have not had to deal with this yet thankfully.

So many people have multiple accounts, this wouldn't really prove anything either.

And they can also trade the key to someone else...

If you had sent it as a link instead of a key, then you'd be able to track whose email address activated the key, but since you sent the key, I think the best you can do is see if IG is able to revoke the key and give you a new one.

It's just as possible that the new winner activated it and then said it was a dupe - you can't tell or prove anything.

Never had a dupe from them yet and buy a lot of bundles either for myself or giveaways. They did once sell me a key where they got a "1" mixed up with a "l" at their end, but I managed to guess that was the problem and get the key working. Had some quality powers of insight that day.

What game is it for? Might be able to help you out with another key if you need it.

I haven't had a duplicate key from indiegala yet, but I would assume that the key you revealed to the first winner might have been used unfortunately. This is why it is always a good habit to check first to see if your winner already has won the game and has it in their account. It's more work on your end but it saves you the heartache of losing a key. Winners of games should always be honest and not reveal keys for double wins. But it sounds like maybe the winner took your key :(

That being said though, perhaps you can contact IG support if you feel this key is duplicate. It's hard to tell at this point whether your key was dupe initially or it was used by the winner. However, if you want, send an email to support@indiegala.com. The customer support I have received so far has been very amicable and they have been patient with me, even after I sent in maybe 3-4 support tickets within several weeks. Hopefully you can get a nice support staff helping you out :)

Alternatively, I would try to obtain a different key. See if it's on sale somewhere first or trade for it before buying it full price. I made the mistake of sending a dupe key that I had used before and had to buy the game full price :(

Good luck ! ❤️

Well as everyone else said, try contacting IG support. I think they're amazing and have never had any problems.

But if for some reason that fails, lmk. I might pick up the bundle during happy hour and will toss you a key.

If you clicked send key after the first win then the first winner could have stolen the key and either used it or gave it to someone else. If you rerolled prior to sending the key then yes, the issue would be with indiegala and should contact them.

Unfortunately you won't be able to prove anything. Someone could be lying, nobody could be lying, etc. :( When I've had a winner say a leftover bundle key was used, I bought the game again from Steam and send them a gift. Waste of money, but what else can you do? :)

I believe Humble support will revoke a key and send you a new one, don't know if Indie Gala will do the same. If they will help, even if someone lied you will know they didn't profit from it. :)

p.s. It doesn't help for this time, but next time remember to check before you send the key... :) Also look at http://www.sgtools.info/ just in case... :)

It does not help with the current issue, but if you send IG gift links instead of keys (yes, it requires sending a mail), you can see who claimed them.

I see gift links for the whole bundle, can I link the individual games?

Yes, you sure can. I have purchased extra bundles and generated gift links for every game in the bundles, so I can give them out individually.

It will generate a permanent gift link that you can give out to the winner for the specific game, and then you will be able to see the email address of the person who claimed the gift. It doesn't necessarily mean they activated the key, of course, but at least they can't deny ever receiving it. :)

Yep. Your whole bundle gift links will say "Here's your gift link 0", "Here's your gift link 1" etc. depending on how many you have. Click on one of them and the entire list of games from the bundle will come up. From there, you can either press the Steam button to reveal a key, or on the right-hand side there's a little icon that looks like a gift/present. Click that, and insted of generating a Steam key, it will generate a gift link for that individual game.

Hey mate. I'm the 2nd winner of the re-roll.

I've never had a dupe from IndieGala. I have had an incorrect key from HRK once.

IndieGala support may provide a 2nd key. But sounds to me like the 1st winner activated the wrong key by mistake. We could ask the 1st winner to provide the other key they thought they activated and I can check if that one is still valid.

IndieGala can have duplicate keys, like all bundle sites– this thing happened somewhat frequently (as in one a few thousand people) on HB somewhat recently. Heck, normal digital distributors handling Steam keys may give duplicates out of mistake or because the publisher accidentally sent them to more than one store (or somebody there put a few keys here and there up on the grey market on the side…).

Still, that is one of the many possibilities.

Does Indiegala support provide a new key in case of duplicate?

Yes, but it's gotta be from a recent bundle. If it's 30 days>, they may not have any spares.

If you are within 30 or 60 days after the bundle ended, then yes. I cannot remember which is the deadline.
Sometimes, if they sell the game in question in their store, they may give you one even after that. Don't count too much on that though.

They'll ask proof of that, so it saves a lot of time to attach screenshots of it.

Received a duplicate key at Humble Bundle as well as Indiegala within the last week; both work fast at providing a new key.
