Dwarf Fortress not abandoned!! Next build coming in July

" It's almost here! After over two years in the making, we plan to release the next version of Dwarf Fortress in the beginning of July. We are very grateful to those that made it possible by supporting us financially all this time. Dwarf Fortress has become more than a game in the twelve years since we started. It is now a crazy art project that everyone can engage in! Whether it's creating the awesome mods, or helping newbies learn to play, everybody helps out. There are going to be a lot of bugs in the beginning so one major way to help out would be to contribute to the bug tracker. Dwarf Fortress would never have made it this far without such a strong community. Thanks to everyone on the Bay 12 forums and beyond for spreading the word. It's going to be a busy few months coming up so thank you again in advance for your patience and generosity! "

I have played the last build in 2012 and enjoyed it. Anyone else excited about this??

I am not even aware of what it adds, except for bits and pieces.

But even then, "meh, call me when they update the interface"

Sadly, I don't think the interface will ever change.. All of the Dwarf Fortress fanboys would probably literally cry over it.

Well, of course it hasn't been abandoned, the dude works on it nearly every day. =P That is good news, though. I've been waiting for the next update to show up for quite a while. Although, I can't really say that it excites me all that much. Going by the development list he has, there isn't a whole lot that is being added.

I'll definitely get back into the game again. I freaking love it. =P But, I'll probably wait until the mods I use get updated, at the very least I'll wait for the graphic pack I use. I just can't play Dwarf Fortress without it.. It's just too damn hideous to look at, haha. Too bad it doesn't look more like Brogue.

woooohoo. yes, i am excited! awesome that i dont even have to go there to get informed about the new release :D

i play dwarf fortress like every 6 month for 1-4 weeks :D nice to see the update in the near future
