Wow, a little over 2 hours now. That's the heaviest downtime I've ever seen. At least it's dinner and movie time now so I can finally stop caring.
This is why I used to create steam backups with cracks of all my legit games haha, but my library grew far too huge to keep that up.

funny thing is, if they ever caught the guy doing this DDOS, he would go to prison for many years. he legit stopped a company from doing business. and lets be honest steam probably lost a million dollars from this 2+ hour downtime

they did caught one and they did sentenced him to several years in prison... a bit harsh in my opinion this are capable people who are not getting mentally challenged by they every day lifes, i would put them on the CIA or DEA and let them hack away.

DDOS attacks aren't really hacking, unless you're using it as a mask for some hacking you plan to do... Atleast that is what I've come to learn about DDOS attacks over the years..

the longer the downtime the less likely it was just a simple DDOS attack, and the more likely some kind of breach happened.. The longer the downtime the biggere and more extensive the breach actually was..

Nah, they had it fixed in a day but throughout that day the only communication was from steamDB Twitter which isn't valve. Once steam was back up and usable, valve didn't acknowledge it until a couple days after in an email saying "stuff happened and we're kinda sorry but hey the sale is still going so give us your money"
