Not even Wuppo? I don't believe I've ever read about it outside of Steam's site, or giveaways here.

It was on Steam though. And then Gaben pissed off EA, so EA started their own digital distribution, with blackjack and hookers.
So it won't be coming back any time soon.

ah i never knew it was on steam

If you don't mind me asking, how did Gaben upset EA?

Was it like how Bernie Stolar pissed off Namco, killing off any chance of Tekken 1 & 2 on Sega Saturn?

Short version is that there were 2 events in particular that matter:

  1. Gaben handed porting duties for the Orange Box on Playstation 3 to EA. EA provided a bit of a shitport, leading to Valve vowing to never work with them again on development/publishing work. EA did decide to still use Steam as a distribution platform though.

  2. Flash forward a few years,and Mass Effect 2 appeared on Steam. However, note that to this date, that game has no DLC listed on the Steam store. This is because it was the age of Online Passes and stuff, and Valve and EA could not agree on how to handle the planned DLC on PC for this game and Dragon Age 2.

The second point in particular is one of the direct reasons why Origin is now a thing.

I think part of the issue here as well was EA's insistence on using a fake digital currency in order to buy the DLC for the Mass Effect and Dragon Age games, a currency that they only scrapped at the start of this year.

Wait, is that right about the digital currency? I've used Origin a bit in the past and never noticed. Maybe I've just become so desensitised to anything that might connect "EA" with "questionable and money-hungry".

I see that today you are the god of cake, rejoice!

Bioware Points, specifically for Mass Effect and Dragon Age DLC, not sure if they had anything similar for other franchises but until the start of this year when they started selling the DLC directly you couldn't get it any other way than buying Bioware Points.

There's a dev with realy good games wich are pretty unknown... It'sa continuing story... First one is a 2D souls-like, then it changes into an 2D platformer, the third goes back to firs gameplay... H.P. Lovecraft inspired... the games improoving with the skills of the dev... he made his IT diploma while making the second game...

  1. Shrouded ind Sanity
  2. Usurper
  3. Into the Fray (Early Acces)

Wow, those actually look like potentially good games. I wishlisted all three of them, albeit I'm mostly interested in the first two.
The artstyle is nice and the gameplay seems pretty decent from what I can see in the trailers. I guess the lack of marketing is the main reason this games didn't do better?

Helium rain is excellent, it's a sort of miniature X3 ! Sill early-access but already excellent.
Super for people who want to play X3 but don't have enough time ! :D

In similar way, i recommend Saelig
https://store.steampowered.com/app/612720/SAELIG/
It's a sort of short version of The Guild, early-access too, about 15h of gameplay actually.

To start with Okami as a hidden gem... I mean, gem, yes, but that was like a cult game on older platforms.

And to say hidden on Steam, I mean...

Buzz Aldrin's Space Program Manager - competition between USSR and USA to reach the moon

Masquerada: Songs and Shadows

Yono and the celestial elephants - cute 9h adventure
https://store.steampowered.com/app/602430/Yono_and_the_Celestial_Elephants/

And... i like a lot the games with "special" beautiful graphic style, stain glasses or light games. So amphora, glass masquerade, message quest, shu, little briar rose, and probably some others.

Papo & Yo, 95% out of 952 reviews since 18 April 2013;
"A normal lost phone" + the almost unknown "Another lost phone: Laura's story", respectively 89% out of 852 reviews in almost 2 years and 94% out of 180 in one year;
Else Heart.Break(), with 82% of the 163 reviews positive since 24 September 2015;
and probably Secrets of Rætikon, 72% out of 150 since 7 January 2014 (I haven't played it yet, but I like foxes and games like this, so it's a nice combo for me!).
