That app was pretty bad, I hope Fallout 4 is better.

I thought it was pretty good too, but as progressed I noticed ridiculous bugs and that there is no end game.

Ridiculous bugs and crashing. I gave it up and uninstalled.
Comment has been collapsed.
No bugs and no crashes so far and it's been running for several hours now. Maybe it's your device?
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh, absolutely it's my device. I have an iPad Mini from 2012. It's "Unsupported."
RU Fing Kidding me? 3 year old device unsupported.
And I'm not even kidding.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh, but it's supported by Apple... that's the thing...
It's unsupported by Fallout Shelter.
The 'hardware' is too old... wtf? seriously?
Comment has been collapsed.
You just now caught on to Apple stopping support for older devices even if they can still run the new OS to force you to buy new one.
Welcome to how Apple prints money, this is why i stopped using Apple,i had a ipod touch that i could no longer use a couple my music streaming apps despite the ipod still having enough power to run it,my OS could not be updated because it was no longer supported,i got it for playing music and using the streaming apps as my 5.1 surround system supported Ipod dicking.
So they will no longer be getting my money for there over priced products and forced updates.
Comment has been collapsed.
Because if they update the app for the new os only and i can not update to the new OS.I can not run said app, even know the hardware can handle the new os and features but they stop support of said device so the only way to get the new os is to buy a newer device.I never implied it was the apps fault,i was blaming Apple for it,hence why i said i would no longer be buying there product because of that practice. If i was to blame the app itself i would have said i would no longer be using said app,not the device.
I could see if the device could no longer do the newer features and was to slow and so on,but they jut did it to upsell you another device. So yes it is Apple causing the issue all in the name of selling a product, yet people harp on Microsoft so much and Apple is just as greedy as them.
Comment has been collapsed.
that is exactly the app developer's fault, similarly firefox requires android 4 so the 2.x users cant use it
apple supports products quite well actually, more than most android devices
if the app supported the older OS in its older version, then it is the app that deviced to change something, so it's the app's fault
i still dont understand what the problem is if you already have the app installed, there is nothing to update, it already works
Comment has been collapsed.
No it is not...i think your misunderstanding me which may be my fault,,,but i never meant for it to go this far...
My point was if Apple did not stop support for my device, despite the fact that the ipod could run the new OS i could update to the new OS and used my app.
If i could just updated to the new OS i could have still used it,but my main point was i do not want to be a part of a system that forces me to update or be locked out of future OS updates just to sell more hardware.
(i still dont understand what the problem is if you already have the app installed, there is nothing to update, it already works)
If the app is updated to make use of the new features of the OS it can become a problem if i can not update to the new OS,You do know apps do get updated and need updates before being used, you know like games do on Steam no update,no play game.
If you would think outside the box a little bit instead trying to shift the blame away from Apple you might have thought of that.Like it so terrible that Apple is to blame when in the end they are.
Also i never stated that Apple does not support there products well that was not the reason i quit using them,i quit because of the stopping of support of older devices and updating to the new OS just to sell a newer product that i do not need because the device i have now works just fine.

well i was reading about ipod touch a month ago, quite a long gap between 5th gen launch to now (6th)
yours is what, 4th gen or older? technically 2010 parts the latest
you keep saying the device can support the new OS, how?? if the new OS uses more ram or 64bit (for example) or metal (also example), then it's not going to support it, you have to cut it off sometime, the question is when
sometimes the other issue is the component manufacturer hasnt made a new driver for the new OS, the powervr gpu for example
since i dont have an apple device, i dont know how the appstore works, are you actually blocked from your app even though its previous version was installed? cant you disable updates? can you ask the app dev to post the old version somewhere? if i was a dev, i would gladly do that
on android, i am free to turn off automatic app updates per app & run them as i want, while on any platform like steam or console, you can always run offline without being nagged about updating
when i say apple supports their products pretty well compared to most everyone (only PC graphics card drivers do better), i am talking about older devices, seriously most android devices are unsupported ON LAUNCH
there are too many android devices with no security updates, no lolipop, but several generations iphone & ipad can still use iOS 8
but anyway, the main issue is the app used to run on old OS, it doesnt matter if the device is 1 or 10 years old, if there is a new OS or not, the app WAS working & the dev decided to break that
i dont like apple, why would i try to shift blame? there are tons of other issues that are their fault, but an app dev forcing users is not one of them... not everyone wants the new OS or maybe some app they use is broken on the new OS, what kind of app has the nerve to force the user if its previous versions worked?
it's not like winXP doesnt work anymore or that IE8 for XP stopped working, they exist in their final state with no more updates or features, there is no choice for older hardware that has no drivers for vista onward to be able to upgrade windows

I've had no issues with iOS 8.4 on the mini and even on an iPhone 4s.... though I know many people have had issues with it on the 4s's

Woah! Take it easy mate, I don't have a crystal ball to see what device you are using. Bad day today?

I'm not irritated with you. :)
I'm irritated with the app for not supporting a device that is only 3 years old. :D

Defenitely not. Fallout Shelter is superior to Fallout 4 in every category.
Comment has been collapsed.
They said that shelter is developed to be played on a touch device, I don't think will be ported on pc.
(you can play shelter on pc with an android emulator)

I use Bluestacks (http://www.bluestacks.com/) to play Android games on my PC. Tapped Out, Family Guy and since yesterday Fallout Shelter. Works great and much better then on the phone, though Fallout Shelter has no cloud saves unfortunately
Comment has been collapsed.
over the last 3 years of using bluestacks i think its better but i really hate the "to continue using free, download these apps"
but i guess its better then how it used to be, used to download without your permission lol . the 3 games you mentioned are exactly the ones i play too lol

Oh, don't have a phone and wanted to play Shelter for a while, thanks for the info!

F2P or another LEGENDARY REMASTERED EDITIONâ„¢ ? XD
Comment has been collapsed.
The mobile version sucks and it ain;t got nothing to do with Fallout - it's basically The Sims clone, which would be pretty bad on its own, yet it's so simplistic, dumbed down and dull, that it lasted precisely three days on my phone. I hate playing those pesky little time wasters that make you look at your phone every half an hour or so and make a few clicks. I guess it would be even more dreadful on a PC.

it's a pretty shallow game (fits mobile perfectly). looks awesome at first but after some days it gets boring.
also, they released an update a few days ago with "new features". extra funnyâ„¢ to get attacked by deathclaws that usually wipe out an entire room. = uninstall.

No, mobile apps on steam is a no go. It won't be worth it either. It's good enough as an app...
Comment has been collapsed.
You're mean, I thought this was an announcement.
As for those saying it will never / should never happen there are lots of dumb touchy/mobiley games on Steam today. Metal Slug Defense is the closest example I can think of but there are lots.
Comment has been collapsed.
Not should as much as could. Besides, the market is clearly there, with plenty of people using Bluestacks or similar to play mobile games on their PCs.
That being said, if I'm going to try out this game (and I am) I'd rather it be on Steam. Especially with my Win10 tablet, PC games don't all have to be crazy resource-intensive blockbusters. Then again, I am slowly turning into a dirty casual...

My ipod is too shitty to run it so I'm all for a PC port.
Comment has been collapsed.
I have not tried it since i do not have any touch device that i could, though i would be up for it on steam if it was a good port with good controls and it was fun,but for the right price though since i have not played it i could not say a price but from what i know of it i would think 1.99-2.99 would be a fair price but just a shot in the dark.

Sheltered looks interesting, might pick it up when i have the chance.

The game was super easy to exploit, due to pregnant women and children being immune to damage. Keep the men outside unless they are "needed" and you could ignore most of the mechanics. It's a pretty good mobile game though even if it had some performance issues on my 5C.

Damn your misleading title! I just got it yesterday and have been hooked, although I typically don't play mobile games.

Yes, I would like Fallout: Shelter on steam; ONLY if there are no micro-transactions!
Plus, I do like the Fallout series.
Comment has been collapsed.
I've enjoyed it a lot, it's just that after building over a 100 rooms my Android device got slower and slower.

I was kind of for a while on tablet, but then it got boring and repetitive, pretty soon.
Then it came to PC with Bethesda Launcher, I got close to the danger zone but forgot my login and was busy to check, so quit it again.
But now on Steam... the quest-update raised the gameplay value so much ;__; gotta be strong.

I played CityVille and learned my lession. I'm not touching Facebook Idle games ever again.
Comment has been collapsed.
Neither did I in CityVille. I just joined one of those Groups on FB that spam each other with a neverending stream of Resource requests. Also I already have Sheltered on Steam and This War of Mine on PS4 if I want to play a game in a similar setting.
