Borderlands' vehicles follow the mouse. Watch Dogs' vehicles go where the wheels actually point; mouse just controls the camera, so I just found it easier to ignore the mouse completely while driving.
Driving is not as bad as some people say, it just takes some getting used to. People dismissing it after an hour are just not giving it a chance. It's arcadey, but each vehicle category handles differently, so you eventually learn.

For me, unplayable. Crashin into everything and wrecking my sweet new ride is nothing fun. Only enojoyment I've gotten out of W_D at 6 hours into the game is killing Aisha Tyler with an AK.

I am not going to use a controller because they suck at making a good drivable control as Rockstar Games used in GTA series, mostly 4 and 5

I have seen several gameplay videos of it, and I am still very hyped out about it. I can't afford it at the moment, but to me, it really seems nice. Yeah, it has issues, like low textures, things popping in, etc. But those aside, it does look like a really fun game to me.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, I heard that too. Many games are unoptimized when they first come out (with some never to be optimized, like GTA 4), but I am sure that Watch Dogs will be optimized later.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah. I'd say wait a few weeks and you'll get more. I am sure they'll release a patch that optimizes the game. I watched TotalBiscuit's video, and he should be getting 120+ fps, but is getting only about 60 or so.

Nvidia is just as bad for this game, in some ways worse, amazing really.
Comment has been collapsed.
no what I entailed was that Watch Dogs is a Nvidia game and high end amd cards work as well as mid range Nvidia due to Nvidia code

People with sli 760's, 780's, etc...are running badly. Its coded bad in general. Check the Steam forums, you can be on a NASA computer and it will be shit.
Comment has been collapsed.
You can expect that, unfortunately, from AAA games for at least a few weeks after release.
Comment has been collapsed.
Idk I have gotten games on release that functioned great, Sleeping Dogs comes to mind since its a similar game...

Sleeping Dogs is still kind of buggy for me. But its also more of an indie title than a true AAA title. I guess maybe you can call it AA?
Comment has been collapsed.
No issues here, max it on an AMD Athlon X4 645 and GTX750ti and it does look better to me then Watch Dogs.
It is AAA btw, not sure why you think its not, its made by United Front Games and Square Enix, its the successor to True Crimes which was also AAA and on consoles in the past when indie really wasn't a console thing.
Crysis 3 worked on high for me with no issues day 1, so do a ton of other AAA games, I rarely have issues, this is a biggie for me.

I wish I had a rig like that. I guess I chose portability over power; I've got an i7 laptop with an Nvidia 640M.
Sleeping Dogs is a lot like Child of Light. Its technically a AAA title, but feels like an indie game. That's not a bad thing in this case. Just how it feels.
AAA titles that were horribly buggy for me: Skyrim, Titanfall, AC4, Dark Souls II. I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting.
Comment has been collapsed.
See I see Sleeping Dogs and games like Dark Souls and Skyrim all as AAA, its even AAA makers, not sure what you mean really. It's a full fledged game that can be compared to games like Grand Theft Auto and Saints Row quality wise, more so imo actually.
Comment has been collapsed.
Dark Souls and Skyrim are both AAA games in name and feel, but to me, Sleeping Dogs never felt like anything but a well made indie title. Don't know why.
Comment has been collapsed.
Its not indie, since when was United Front Games and Square Enix ever considered indie, maybe its because it works not so well on your computer?
The game is more polished, has more content, is graphically amazing in an AAA fashion(especially at its time), has everything a big budget game has, more so then most if you ask me.
Your feelings don't decide what is and isn't AAA or Indie...
AAA titles don't have to sell well to be AAA
It came out full priced and had a mess of DLC, its considered AAA by the company and well by everyone including professional reviewers, hell you might as well call Hitman Absoultion and the new Tomb Raider also indie at this point, AAA does not mean big hits only like Skyrim or COD.
Hell Watch Dogs feels like it was made by a bunch of bad indie devs so far, shit that was polished in Sleeping Dogs is horrible here.
Comment has been collapsed.
Jeez, I said it felt like an indie title. No need to get all personal.
There is no consensus on what a AAA game is. Some, like you, mean a game with a high budget. I define AAA games as high-budget titles with a high level of financial success. Hitman, Tomb Raider, and Sleeping Dogs don't fit my definition, but they fit yours. I'd say that Square Enix has devolved into a mid-range developer recently.
Note that doesn't reflect at all on my opinion of these games - I think that Tomb Raider and Sleeping Dogs are excellent. Not having played Hitman, I can't claim anything about it.

"There is no consensus on what a AAA game is. Some, like you, mean a game with a high budget"
Actually that is pretty much factually what it is....and no Square Enix is still high budget which is pretty obvious if you played through the latest Tomb Raider.
It has nothing to do with success hence why companies cry when their AAA title didn't make enough profits.
Not get personal, getting factual, you seem to be taking the personal side which is opinion based, not fact based like I am....

Really? People's experiences speak different
Many threads like this and thats after the new Nvidia drivers, we are not better off, my 750ti can not run this on low....
As you can see it does not matter what brand you have at this point, its so badly optimized that its basically a shot in the dark if you can run it well. FFS even Total Biscuit with Titans is having issues....
I know about the whole Nvidia hate thing and there is nothing illegal about it really, if there is a lawsuit it will be a joke really. Personally I always go with Nvidia because I prefer the drivers/features and that makes the premium price worth it for me....

There is some puzzlebased hacking during a mission (the third one).
But I don't see how it work. How would you build the script before using the hack for the first time? By doing the puzzle/making the script during the chase? Kinda breaks the immersion.
But I agree, outside action scenes they could use more in-depth hacking.
Comment has been collapsed.
There are games like this being funded on Kickstarter. Unfortunately I can't remember the names.
Comment has been collapsed.
That's seriously the most ridiculous feature request I've ever heard. Boy would that get tiresome fast.
Comment has been collapsed.
They advertised this as a tale about an outlaw hacker that uses his abilities to stay alive. What you get is a guy with one button "hacking". It's not hacking - in other games it's called "flipping a switch to open a door or make the platform move". You can obviously do something more immersive.
Comment has been collapsed.
you really suggest spending a lot of time in menues and building scripts and whatnot, while constantly interrupting the actual game for this? that would be a pretty bad design decision for a mainstream game. most people would just be bored by that.
Comment has been collapsed.
you will never get a hacking experience in a game. thats why its called game, and not hours and hours of writing code...
Comment has been collapsed.
They could have at least borrowed something like the customizer mechanics from Megaman Battle Network 3 and onwards, where you try to jigsaw several programs on a single grid to get different boosts and abilities. It's kind of like a light-weight inventory puzzle really, but in this game the outcome could govern which things you can hack, how fast etc.
Would still be nowhere close to real hacking, but would probably make you feel more like your software is your main weapon.

Cool, i can reask this here
I have an outdated computer, how does the game optimization compare to Assassins Creed 4? I'm wondering if i can even run the game on lowest, AC4 was lagging for me, especially during the sea battles or sailing in general
Comment has been collapsed.
what? i can max AC4 at 1080p all on max with mas 4xAA and catalyst control center AA. and i get 50+ FPS.
Comment has been collapsed.
it acctually happened the other way around for me, 3 ran horribly on my machine, and like i said, 4 dosent, are you sure you have all the patchs?
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm not and quite honestly i don't even care right now since the constant lag made me not want to play it any more. Doesn't really matter i had fun till Kingston and then it also got a bit repetitive so along with lag it doesn't appeal to me any more. I'll try Watch Dogs when i free enough disc space, it might work after all :)
Comment has been collapsed.
I can max GTA4 out no problem (even when it first released!) but have to play this game on medium if I don't want lag. High and above the frames start dropping like a boulder down a mountain, and it doesn't even look much better between the two lol.
Comment has been collapsed.
For me it's much better optimized than ACIV. ACIV lagged in big towns for me, the sea stuff and smaller islands/forts were 60 fps most of the time. I haven't played a ton of Watch Dogs, only tried it for an hour or so, to see how well it's optimized before I decide to buy it, and the optimization is not an issue for me i7 920 @3ghz, gtx660ti and 8gb of ram. I can run it on high at 1920x1200 with a surprisingly high frame rate considering the recommended requirements.

Ubisoft? Ha, they didn't even fix the savegame destroying bug in AC4 yet.

The driving is not fun. At all. But I enjoy it greatly - glad I picked it up during the price bug!

Yeah, he exploited a bug on uplay's russian store when the game was 1$. What I can say ? He's game should be removed and account banned !
Comment has been collapsed.
They sold it for 50 at every currency equivalent in November last year.
So it was 50£$€ and so on. In my currency it was about $7. No Russians used. No VPN. Nothing. I just bought it.

I kinda like it, not sure why people complain about the 1 button hacking... Also driving, its not that bad (or am i too good in driving)?
Story is ok so far (played for about 1,5 hours). My only complain is that it feels like I'm getting punished if i try to be a pacifist. During my first restricted area mission I couldn't get to the objective without being noticed if I didn't kill anyone.. Ohh and optimization is shit, even for Nvidea.
I'm going to finish the first act too see if I'm going to buy it (and on which price).
Yeah, I torrented it. But why shouldn't I? There is no demo to try or what so ever...
EDIT: The AI is pretty shite. If someone draws a gun and shoots at you, the police will come... To shoot at you. Seriously wtf? Just did a chase, when I finally forced the guy, who is was chasing, stop. He pulled out a gun and shoot me, the police came by as reaction to the shooting. And started to attack me, while I was unarmed...

the story is actually really good. The protagonist might not be amazing but the interactions between characters really appeal me. Sort of like Far Cry 3, your interaction with the villains or the villains themselves is more amazing than who you play.

I am not unfortunately. Here's an 'overview' of my experience link
UPDATE: Completed the game 29/05/14, probably the best storyline of 2014. In my opinion, topped GTA V's story.
