I saw some users who only (or mostly) gave away the games on IGN Prime. The thing I wanna ask is, are these all legit? or are they just abusing IGN? I don't think they have multiple legit IGN Prime accounts.

If they're getting these for free, why doesn't SteamGifts add these games to bundle games list? I know it wouldn't be so nice for the legit IGN Prime users wanting to give away these games but I think SG should do something about this.

You're better off pasting this onto a support ticket.

Doing it in a public thread might be seen as calling out...

Support doesn't appear to be very responsive though, although I guess a lot of people have stuff marked urgent, while I'm basing this on a regular ticket.

I dont think youre allowed to post profiles like that. you should ask first, cuz i think ppl can get banned for that

Don't call out users and remove the links.

You have to pay for IGN prime and therefore they are legit but these "A Virus Named Tom" giveaways were AFAIK from an IGN exploit.

1- no calling out

2- I don't see it as a problem. Free games, and they're decent! Also, a LOT of people abused the Trine keys.

Those were only some examples I saw lately, I am not accusing anyone. I just wanted to know that all these games could be legit.

They could all be legit, how is anyone else supposed to know? :P

If there is a chance to abuse this, then you can't really know if it's legit or not, I was just asking for this and I think I got the answer, if Brotbaum is right.

Some people ARE exploiting IGN via multiple free subscriptions, and have said so on the forums.

However, unless the abuse is obvious, I'd be hesitant about jumping to conclusions.

That's my point though, who says he's correct? :P No one will have a clear answer to this, all you should know is that there are many many exploited IGN games out there and many many Steamgifts users have exploited them in the past.

On Steamtrades I've seen people trading hundreds of exploited keys for other games, no joke.

This and AtomicWoodchuck's post are exactly what I was looking for, thanks guys.

I'll stay away from these games unless they're Steam gifts.

I remember I got my year of IGN Prime for super cheap. I wouldn't be surprised if people got more than one account, because it's more than payed for itself.

Off-topic: What's the game given for free this month for Prime members? Can't find it on IGN's page.

Pretty sure these games are added to the bundle game list.

A Virus Named TOM still adds contribution value and it's not on the list

No they're not. And why would they be? They're not bundle games. It would be unfair to those like me who actually paid for the IGN Prime subscription and will only give away the games that they already have.

I'm pretty sure many IGN Prime keys are exploited. I can tell you that I had a one month IGN Prime sub, cancelled it and I was left with access to IGN Prime. I consider that an exploit, and far as I know there are quite a few people who got a perpetual membership from the IGN Prime trial because of this bug. In my case I alerted them to the problem because I don't feel right exploiting this, but I imagine that there are people with even more than one perpetual trial still around.

Some people are using virtual credit cards and not entering their details properly on the virtual card website so they wont be charged. IGN tries to take a payment about a week after you sign up and it gets declined. I wouldn't do this though, as it is most probably illegal in most countries.

I'll trade my IGN keys if I have the game like I did with Wizorb. Mine are legit though as I pay the measly yearly fee. I don't have the time or care to exploit crap like this.

Depends on amounts, if you have alarmingly too many then there might be an issue.

Yeah, they're committing credit card fraud.

So it's highly illegal, but most of them are from countries like Russia where they're "safe" from prosecution because the governments are useless.

Exploited keys aren't allowed. If you see multiple copies giveaway of games from IGN or from Sapphire Select Club (for example Unstoppable Gorg was one some months ago), report them to the support team. They get a suspension and the giveaways deleted.
