Deadman Wonderland, High School of the Dead, Desert Punk. I wont name the mainstream ones that are 100s of episodes long since any anime fan has at least heard of them. The Hellsing Ultimate OVAs are good. What kind of anime are you into? Tengen Toppa Guren Lagann, Black Blood Brothers, Trigun, Gintama(long but awesome), Take a look at the first episodes of a couple of those and tell me what you think. Some are old but they're all pretty good.

I liked "Crest of the Stars" a lot... But apparently nobody else did, so I don't know if it's worth a try for you our not...
