Try Bokurano. At first it seems like another mech anime, but it quickly turns into more. I'd like to tell you why the story is so exceptional but I can't without spoiling it, so I'll just say that rather than focusing on super flashy robots fighting, the mech is more of a plot device to put the revolving door of pilots into quite possibly the most difficult situation imaginable and see how they deal with it.
I won't have time for gaming for a while, so no need to give me the Tryst beta if you pick my suggestion. Just let me know if you enjoy the series. :)

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is the best anime. It's the best. Just.
Mirai Nikki, Steins;gate, Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai is kinda funny. Guilty Crown is similar to SOA, also it became epic after 15 ep. Angel Beats.

You should give Noein a chance. It has a pretty unique style and great music. A story about parallel time lines, sci-fi, mecha-elements and a fun cast.

didnt like lucky star even it's a type of anime i would prefer now ..... i would want a anime like a mysterious girlfriend X or bridge to starry skies ...... but then again im watching SAO and Campione! too now oh and fairy tail too so yeah .. :D but ty anyways

Serial Experiments Lain. Super underrated, really awesome and kind of mindfucky.
