How do points work?

I opened a Payday: The Heist give away not too long ago and I've been getting a lot of points but I don't understand how they work.

Do I get them every XX subscribers, does it work with views or even possibly comments? If there's anything else I could know about them, please share!

Read the FAQ and find out.
To summarise, when a giveaway is created everybody (except the creator) gets some points. Nothing to do with views, entrants or comments.
