This information is sent over to probably thousand of employees and developers over at Valve and otherwise. Odds are that one of these people will be a leaker. :P

Back when games only got onto Steam at Valve's choice, it would have gone to people that could be trusted not to leak stuff. Now though, with Greenlight allowing all sorts in, there are people that rip off the work of others to sell. Is it really any surprise they wouldn't care something is supposed to be private?

Haha, good to know (not like I'm going to remember it by the end of Nov anyway) :D

Wow, that's pretty early for a leak. I wonder why people are so obsessed with knowing the exact date of Steam sales.

to buy trash they will never play
complain this sale was worse than the previous

cry on the forums because 99999 games are now bundled

You know something is wrong about the gaming community when the complaints about the sales are worse than the sales themselves.

The sales have been going so much downhill lately that they will overtake the complaints sooner or later anyway

The sales aren't bad, we have just been spoiled. With bundles and steep discount being a regular thing, anything less than 75% off is a meh/pass for most. When you consider how silly this sounds when compared to physical goods that rarely go below 50%, you realize that peeps are just being stingy :p.

Hell, more than once I've seen peeps pass on tier 1 hb because only 1 of the games are on their wishlist and it wasn't "worth it" -.-.

I haven't been on Steam long enough to know how "bad" the sales are these days, but I'm always satisfied with the sales. I don't spend much and usually only buy ~5 games.

that is the reason i never bought a retail copy

the best part of this, for me, is that this only actually considers the percent off, not the actual price.
marketing 101: people are more likely to buy an item listed as $100 but discounted 50% than the same item for $50

That's pretty uncalled for. Why so grumpy about a simple humorous comment?

it's the thanksgiving sale. but considering the rest of the world doesn't celebrate national turkey day, they call it autumn sale instead

I only buy off-Steam now. Sure, it's 100% Steam keys anyway, because hey, near-monopoly, but still. Physical boxes, Amazon, websites like GMG... there are many alternatives, thankfully. And most importantly, GOG.

Meh - sales are so 2014 :-p But I miss the fun days of every 8 hours you must log on to get a card!! Or play this clicker game until your fingers are blistered and raw! Or...yeah, creativity is dead at Steam :-(

Well lots of cool games they did were ruined due to cheaters. Like the achievement one, or the badge competition.

Sigh, such is life - still and all, some cool Chive game is better than nothing. Seriously, this is company that sells "fun" for a living - you'd think they could come up with two cool ideas a year, right?
