These keep on coming and I haven't even bought the first one yet.
I liked the anime but I'm starting to wonder if I should even bother with the games, it looks like there are too many to ever finish them now.

re;birth 1,2,3 is a "main story" but U and this is spin-off's.. aaaaaand this is not like like Metal Gear series, you don't must know the whole plot from previous games to fully understand next one :3

5 games total sounds like it'll take me a few years to complete (I'm really bad at RPGs).
But U is an action game right? Maybe I should just get that one at some sale.

They occasionally go on sale for 60-75% off so just hold off on buying them till you plan on actually playing them. I think they're definitely worth playing especially if you liked the anime. I only played the first so far, the storyline is shallow but humorous and lengthy and the games don't feel too grindy (though a small amount of grinding is required at times).

The humour is why I got interested in this series. I only like RPGs when they have a sense of humour, serious stuff like final fantasy bore me to death. Weirdly, this only happens to me with this particular genre.
I'll try to remember to pick one of these at the next big sale.

I completely agree, I suppose one of the reasons is that generic RPG stories and mechanics are really overused and the humour in Neptunia is really unique with the blatant 4th wall breaking and completely spontaneous game references, which is refreshing. In other genres there might be a stronger presence of other gameplay elements that compete for your attention, but in most RPGs the story is essential.

First time ive really seen these, is there an anime for them? Should I watch the anime? Also, are the games any good? I'd buy them, but I need to see if I'd enjoy them first. Gotta see if its worth the unapproving looks from my friends.

Games are good? hmmmm it's not like most of games when you save the world (ok maybe it is XD) but not in the serious, dramatic tone, breaking the 4th wall, jokes about whole gaming industry like they just arguing about what console is better etc. (the whole series is a big joke about gaming, gamers etc.) and have a fun fight system, but first go watch some gameplays from re'birth 1 or 2, if it's not for you then check gameplays from U (it's not rpg, but action game)
