As much as I don't generally recommend it, for this case I recommend SGTools. It's perfect for getting rid of people entering giveaways through leaks.

The only 2 solutions I found were to 1) don't make puzzles and 2) don't really get upset because cheaters will be cheaters.

I know it sounds stupid, but eh...

I was going to suggest the same thing... funny thing is it wasn't a puzzle... just a premium Invite Only GA plainly posted on the forums. Normally you'd never know something like that was leaked but a friend of the OP apparently stumbled over the leaked links in some hacker forum. Makes me wonder how many of the participants of my Invite Only Forum GAs entered through the correct thread and how many got the links somewhere else.

You mean a certain Russian forum known for leaking GAs?

For example but I've been wondering if that russian group that drew attention after the kept harassing Melly's events isn't just the tip of the iceberg... For all we know there could be similar networks which just haven't gotten busted yet.

True, true. But the vast majority of the people I've found entering through leaked GA links have had ties to that group (not always being members of the steam group, but when looking at who has won their private/WL giveaways, well there tend to be a lot of tags I've put on people who have behaved badly or entered through leaked links). The other groups might be smart enough to actually leak the right link though, and not just something in the middle of an SGtools protected train.

Interesting. I don't have any data to go with for leaked GAs because I haven't done any sophisticated puzzles and with Forum Invite Only GAs there's no way to tell if they were leaked other than catching them red-handed (stumbling over the links).

Sgtools tells you someone entered through other means, and there are ways to make "traps", that catches at least some of the people who enter through leaked links

I used SG Tools a few times but as you pointed out people could just leak the link to the SG Tool checkup or even the correct thread (in combination with a list of games contained). Plus everytime you make a SGTools GA you have to make a shitpost to share it. I'm really hoping somebody makes a "Current SGTools GA" thread so we don't have to create a new thread everytime.
I'd kind of like to do it but I'm afraid I'm not committed enough to keep it going over long time and add all new GAs to the OP.

It's still very useful for when you don't want to deal with rerolls or for Premium GAs.

I was sad to see giveaway was deleted but I understand why. Sorry this happened to you twice now.

A group, that way you don't have to manipulate your WL... But it's more work if you need to talk with everybody wanting to join...

Man, that sucks. You make great giveaways even if I can't always enter all of them.

remember not to post comments in your old public giveaways because people love to look for drama ^^

anyway, some solutions:

don't do puzzles
don't make events

Sorry that your giveaway got leaked. Happened the same to me in the past. There is nothing we can really do to avoid it. Best thing is collect solid proof and give it to support.
