So it seems that we pc people are getting it for 50% off for release if we already own the original.

Kind of a dick move for console owners. I can see the Switch not getting the discount, even though it was delayed. But shouldn't all owners get it for that?

I can't empathize with console plebs. They should have gotten used to getting the short end of the stick by now anyway.

Because we didn't get the short end of the stick with the DS port. And now we're getting another one with a paid patch to fix the port.

I have seen some comparison videos, and besides a few smaller graphical changes, it's basically the same thing...

I assume the frame rate boost is the biggest and most important difference between the two. But as much as I love playing at 60 FPS I wouldn't pay 20$ for that improvement lol.

No. That's not unfair at all. Considering how poor the original PC release was, even at 50% off, it's still way too much.

If it was 75% off and came with an apology... then maybe.

i got the whole Bioshock remastered games for free, but of course they do not want to do that. They should give some of the money to Durante then, he fixed their trash port.

Yeah, that would have made me buy it. Even if it was just a token to show appreciation.

... never going to happen of course, since the devs would have to admit to not even doing the most basic of work on the PC port. Let's not forget that it took Durante less than 30 minutes to get that resolution patch out after the game's release. That's embarrassingly fast.

Let it be remembered: 30 fucking minutes.

Durante basically made the game playable with his mod.

I bought it and was never able to get it running even after doing all the community patching nonsense. Too bad it was well before Steam refunds were a thing :(

For $40 they'd need to have redone all the post Lord Vessel content to be up to the same standard as what came before, especially Demon Ruins, Lost Izalith and the Bed of Chaos.

Asking $40 for a patch that fixes FPS and adds new PVP to a primarily single player game is a damn joke. Even at $20 it's an insult.

How come no one understands that they gave us very ample warning that they had never done a PC port before and that it wouldn't be good? They told us it would be bad but the people wanted it anyway then went on to complain about it not being good. Like, what? They have absolutely nothing to apologize for. The people should apologize to themselves for being so dumb.

That's the worst excuse I've ever heard.

Last I checked From Software wasn't a charity. They make and sell a product. If they didn't have the expertise to make it themselves, they should have outsourced it to someone who did (very common in the industry to do that). Or alternatively, not make it at all. There is no excuse for dumping a bad product on consumers - if they charge money for it, they both can and should be held to certain standards.

On May 8, Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition will be removed from Steam.

Yeah let's split the player base even more and fuel the trading parallel economy. Yay.

The remastered version features the same characters, environments, and challenging gameplay, but it includes a number of upgrades, including improved graphics and quality-of-life tweaks. You'll also be able to play online with six people, rather than the previous limit of four.

So basically no changes except non-PS2 graphics and more gankfests for invaders. Yay.

You can keep your 50% off From, I'll wait for the 75% or the bundling in a few years, if I ever buy this.

Will it be a stacking discount? As in when the game hits 75% off, will it then be 88% off for previous owners (or will they mess up like Slitherine did with Rise of Prussia and make it a 125% discount, and thus impossible to buy :P )

Steam usually doesnt do cross discounts in my experience.

They can do it if the devs set it to work like that. This is true for both discounts for previous owners and coupons, it's just that most devs don't tend to let discounts stack (or in the case of Slitherine, made it stack the wrong way!)

I got both Darksider Remastered games for $0, i assume because i own the original games. They just popped up in my library. So yes, a 50% for PC gamers can be considered a dick move, but not in the way you're thinking about it.

DSfix looks better anyway. Gonna be review bombed into oblivion, because people have unreasonable expectations for this remaster.

Dark Souls PC was given away free at least once, if you don't own it no one to blame but yourself.

Fuck everyone in Europe in particular, how do they dare to sleep while the others snatch the limited number of keys that the golden joystick ogranizers forgot to put region lock on. Blame yourself, not the people who got 5+ copies out of the promo who made the promo ran out before even dawn hit EU... ignorance is a bliss mate.

50% for a remastered? Better 100% like Darksiders Warmaster Edition.

Comment has been collapsed.

Hm. Didn't Darksiders and BioShock do the same, except giving the new version for free for the existing owners? Not to mention that a decade or so ago, this kind of change was not called a "Remastered Edition", we called it "patch 2.0.0".

Kinda late, but at least this might be upgrade. Bioshocks really aren't upgrades (Expect first one having achievements, if you care and full 60fps support without mod), they're somewhat worse than originals. (

Can't get those who are excited for 50% discount tho lol. Nothing special. It will most likely reach -75% without.
(If it was unlimited time stacking discount, then it's different). They did same with Dark Souls 2, so they'll probably have another edition of 3 for next-gen/Switch too :P

THQ Nordic is pretty good when giving remastered versions for free (and non-remastered, if someone would prefer those).

50% is still not great for PC players. Especially when the re-textures and color changes are debatable.

50% off of what's probably a $40 title. (can't find confirmation on PC price).
Prepare to Die edition is $20.
So yeah. You'll end up buying the same game again for the same price.
