I got an extra copy of Outlast from a trade and when I revealed the key the first 5 characters spelled out my name. I already have Outlast so I tried out the key to see if it was valid and the product already owned message came up. So I guess the key is valid and works. Has anyone had a key with their name in it? I assume it's some kind of glitch with the key generator, but I always thought that the keys were already generated and sent to humble by the developer.

Awesome! I was hoping the RNG gods played a role in it.. Good thing I took all those points out of my charisma stat and put them into luck.

Once the steam mobile authenticator tried spelling frog. That's as close as I can recall for a full word.

What if his name actually contains a zero? Some parents can be really nasty... You know, like the parents of Justin Case, Jack Goff or Willie Stroker.

Steam Keys can't have letter O, but steam does accept keys with 0 replaced by O.

thus

0TQ8P-RGI78-L770Y

OTQ8P-RGI78-L770Y

OTQ8P-RGI78-L77OY

0TQ8P-RGI78-L77OY

are all valid steam keys

same is valid for 1 and I thus:

0TQ8P-RG178-L770Y

OTQ8P-RG178-L770Y

OTQ8P-RG178-L77OY

0TQ8P-RG178-L77OY

are valid too. This is how you make 7 more steam keys from one code! ;)

I haven't encountered my name yet (even tho it wouldn't be that hard to spell Axel), but I have runned into keys with the word key on it at least twice.

if you already own the product, it will show u this message no matter if the key is valid or used.

Permalink

Are you sure? I tried testing this by changing a number in the key so I would be certain it was invalid. When I tried it the invalid key message came up and not the product already owned message.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

yes, that's why I said, if it's valid or used (duplicate). if it's invalid, it will say it's invalid. if u have the game, it will show that you already own the game (even when the key is already used by someone else).
