Wow, another Front Mission lover! I used to play Front Missions 2 on PS1 and loved that game. I couldn't find anything similar to that game so I'll keep checking this thread in case someone recommends a good game ^_^

Well, FM1 and FM5, obviously. FM4 has good gameplay but not as good story as the others. and FM2 is kinda... strange, but good game as well. Otherwise, I too would like to hear about more near-future real robot games with realpolitik story. SRW Z2 is good fit thanks to being based on Code Geass/Gundam 00 crossover story.

You could try Valkyria Chronicles (edit: does not have robots though AFAIK so that may be a show stopper).
Or Ring of Red on a PS2 emulator, perhaps?

I've found my people.
FM3 is one of my favourite games, and is my benchmark for what I want out of SRPG in terms of customisation and special skill activation. Unfortunately, I haven't any suggestions, as no other game has come close to what I want, but I couldn't not say hi!
We should form a club. Meet once a month to discuss if they've made a HD remake. I'll make pancakes!

It should be nice game, but I think this game like star citizen. Too long development.
