could just be that it's offscreen
best tool I've found for that sort of issue is NirSoft's WinLister. Usually, just having it center the window works for most things that are being especially stubborn.

Try checking your monitor settings and see what it says. Something like this happened to a friend of mine and the solution was that somehow, Windows 8 had set itself into thinking that he had 2 monitors and it was maximizing the browser window on the other, non-existent monitor.

I'm currently having a problem where Chrome is permanently minimized (the window is open on the taskbar) and I can't open up the window (bring it to the front/ unhide it). This happened after launching Dead Island and Alt-Tabbing out and I'm pretty sure that this has happened before but I can't remember how I fixed it. This happened to my Steam friends list window a while ago too for no apparent reason (Dead Island wasn't involved). I've tried restarting the computer but that didn't do anything. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix it?
