As cool as Starbound seems, and as much as I usually don't give a shit about graphics, that game is just too damned ugly for me to be interested in. :/

I am glad they're putting so much into it. They also said they would rather release it as great and take a while than release it as good and rushed and I can respect that. That doesn't change that they completely missed their release date, shouldn't have put one in the first place if they were just going to break my heart.
Also it's not under a year, it'll be two years in a few months, probably right around when then final phase of beta is finished?

umm only under two years from announcement. . .less then a year from pre-purchase. .. If I'm not mistaken the first time you could have had a claim to spending money one it was April. So really if anyone feels like they have been ripped off for time waiting . . . you should have your meds checked.
Note: I'm not one to talk I had Duke Nukem pre-ordered from 1997. Had it refunded twice. . . once from 3D Realms and once from Steam the day before launch.
That being said what launch date was missed?

I don't get this, there was like little to no feature creep in this game, just a ton of features planned from the start. I mean just look at the roadmap, which has been around for ages.
They just suffered from announcing too early and people being so excited about the game they got impatient and started complaining.
