I'm fairly new here and also looking for friends to game with and/or socialize.
Added you if you are interested :)

People who can't discern BR Portuguese from Spanish.

Most people can't tell the difference between Chinese and Korean
Please ship me off Earth.
But seriously, that's a bit sad, isn't it? :/

Again with my honesty, I can't blame these people. Is not a language we deal in a daily basis, even less written in paper. Is not sad, it's just a minor lack of knowledge.
I would get sadder about the lack of common sense people have(making it not that common).

Mistaking Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish is one thing but Korean and Chinese are different alphabets. Sure you might not know which is which but you should at least be able to tell they aren't the same.

We all know BR Portuguese is a badly spoken(and written) Spanish ;)

You don't seem introvert and shy at all, judging by this topic alone, and also by our previous interactions. We've had a few interactions before as well. :) That being said, I can't commit to anything right now, as my schedule has been quite unstable, but if you want to try and play something we both have (Magicka, maybe? ;)), you can just msg me when you're available, and I'll tell you if I can or cannot play.
Regardless of that, I hope you find the person you're looking for.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm stepping out of my shell because I only have one friend I talk to on a regular basis and one person I suppose I don't mind talking to. My other friend isn't really around anymore and the other person on my friends list named "Lex" just added me a day or two ago. I live a rather lonely life and i'd prefer to meet a couple of people that I will like and enjoy sharing my life with as I hope they enjoy sharing theirs with mine.
Also my shyness is a lot better online as i'm not their physical presence and I can comfortably be in my home. Plus I express myself a lot better through text and forms of imagery. Not verbal words.
Also trust me, i'm very introverted. The last time I spent a day out with a bunch of people. I had a headache that lasted the remainder of the day and somewhat into the next day. I was also exhausted for two days.
I can't play magicka right now. This computer overheats strongly whenever I play it. Plus my internet is awful and playing multiplayer games is hard right now (But I still play them anyways.)
I'd rather not anger or upset someone let alone waste their time as i'm probably going to lag out a lot. At least in multiplayer games I play, no one cares or pays attention. They just kill me or I time out and the game goes on for them.
Also yes, I too hope I find the person i'm looking for. I'm extremely doubtful as i've been looking to meet new people on various types of media for the past month and a half and this is a rather tiring annoying task to be honest. But we'll see.

Woah... we have so much in common! Where to start?
Well, I'm very bad at keeping things short and shutting my mouth, so please bear with me while I type a lot in a way that's far more talkative than anyone ever asked for.
Here's some info about me:
I’m completely accepting of all lgbtqia+ members, that goes for sexuality (or lack of) as well.
Awesome! Did you see that "what's your sexuality" thread? (:
Anyway, I feed off the souls on these forums, so don't hesitate to talk to me whenever (I'll surely be creeping around).
Comment has been collapsed.
I didn't really think that was a lot of text, but that's just me.
Nyooooo. I play a lot of first person shooters. Lol. Also I hate horror games.
I like playing games with other people, sort of. I like being around people, but not actually like. Talking to them and constantly conversing with them. I just like to play with them and do my own thing. I could explain this better, but I will not.
I have Steins;Gate on my list of anime to watch. Also I see.
Sure I guess, here's a picture I drew. Clicky
I'd possibly talk about it right now, but i've been in a depression for the past 3 years and my brain is in rather terrible shape and I do not think I will conjure any response i'd be okay with in response to that "paradox" I say "paradox" because I haven't read it yet so I don't know if it's actually a paradox or not. But I saved it to my computer to read later. But basically any opinion or thought I say is typically blunt, unperceptive, simple, and ignorant at times. I don't actually agree with them or think that. I just cannot create anything good with my brain right now. Regardless, I put that there because I plan on getting better, so eventually in our friendship this will become something I value and engage in my relationship with said individual.
I have heard of Electro Swing, I don't really ever listen to it. But i've been listening to it ever since I read your comment and started typing this comment. At least 4 or 5 songs have passed up to this point in my response to you. I like it. I have a large taste in music. hip-hop, jazz, atmospheric hip-hop/jazz. is just what my favorites are.
Also I indeed see that thread. There was a lot of ignorant and stupid thoughts there. So I stopped going to that thread.

I hope you get to watching it soon (:
Here's a WIP of mine in exchange! x
But I saved it to my computer to read later.
Whenever you have the time to read it, if you'd like to. I simply prompted the link since you mentioned having deep talks once in a while, but it's your criteria to have them whenever you wish if you ever do.
But i've been listening to it ever since I read your comment and started typing this comment. At least 4 or 5 songs have passed up to this point in my response to you. I like it.
You've listened to it and you've liked? I'm so glad! I normally don't even expect people to listen the things I send them, and I'm even more excited to know you've liked it. I know other great ES playlists too, if you'd like their links!
Jazz is indeed awesome! I also like Blues, do you? (:
Also I indeed see that thread. There was a lot of ignorant and stupid thoughts there. So I stopped going to that thread.
Aww sad to know that happened to it. The initial idea seemed great, though. But oh well:

well, its kind of flat. no real complexity in it and its based on the assumtion that time travel is possible - which it is (most likeley) not. not much to discuss or think about, you're done in a few minutes.
i think paradoxes based on more realistic assumtions or with more complexity are much more interesting to think about.
Comment has been collapsed.
in it and its based on the assumtion that time travel is possible - which it is (most likeley) not
You are correct. It isn't possible. Doesn't mean, scientifically speaking, that it can't become. In fact more and more discoveries are pointing out towards the possibility of the present in fact being influenced by the future.
Also, this NASA text is good fun to read on the time traveling topic (:
Comment has been collapsed.
i think its extremely unlikely that time travel (into the past) will become possible in the future.
well robert lanza, the autor of the article behind your first link is a medical doctor and none of his references has anything to do with time travel, its 'just' his misinterpretation of quantum physics that feeds his article.
the nasa article is just straight forward relativity (clocks go slower on high speeds) and provides a mechanism to travel into the future, nothing special here, just a straight forward implication of einsteins theories.
Comment has been collapsed.
I know about this one too, but thanks for the link, it's appreciated!
I only suggested the GP because it's both easy to discuss and I like time travel theories. So no need to call the poor idea boring, thank you.
Here are some other classic paradoxes for your pleasure.

Lots of things I can't say in public, but basically if you want to talk to me, don't expect me to start the conversation. You can spend months not hearing a single word from me. For me to start a conversation, I have to prepare mentally for weeks and create a plan, what will I say and people's response. This is one thing.
Second is that by my experience, I can never be "friend" enough for people to miss me. This may not seem a big deal, but I never had many friends so I make like it is.
And finally, most of my jokes are lame :P
I haven't said much, but this is the most I can think right now that I feel comfortable to share.
Comment has been collapsed.
I see. I'll think about it. Also "I have to prepare mentally for weeks and create a plan, what will I say and people's response." isn't ridiculous or anything. My friend constantly thinks about every single possibility that may happen in a conversation otherwise they'll always be surprised or not know what to do.
Comment has been collapsed.
Pretty much the same here. I probably fit the required "credentials", but I'm not a very social person and usually too busy doing other stuff to talk to friends. Not that any discussion with me ever gets anywhere in the first place...
Friend: Hey bond, whasup?
Me: Oh hey, sup.
Friend: I'm doing great!
Me: Nice.
Friend: So... What are you up to?
Me: Not much.
Friend: Okay. Huh, so have you been playing anything good lately?
Me: Yeah. I've been playing Tera.
Friend: Oh, is it good?
Me: Yeah, okay for an MMORPG.
Friend: Sweet. Got any good loot?
Me: Kinda.
Friend: Okay...
Me: ...
Friend: ...So, I'll catch you later.
Me: Sure.

Well, I rarely initiate discussions by myself. Usually, the other person messages me first, and if that person can start talking about a subject which gets my attention, I can definitely get into a looooong chat discussion.
Heck, at one time, I spent around two hours chatting about life, time, the universe, and technology. I guess "small talk" just isn't my thing.
Also, not sure what you mean by "a matter of people not asking questions well"?
Comment has been collapsed.
I always initiate conversations. I'm just used to it. No one ever talks to me and I wish to talk. So I just have to deal with it and say something or else I'll never get what I want.
Also I hate small talk.
It's a mix of "I don't care enough" and "My brain isn't working well enough to produce a reply I am comfortable with." which is why I cannot answer "a matter of people not asking questions well" right now. Sorry, I already knew that it made no sense to no one but me but I said it anyways. Sorry about that.

Well, feel free to add me on Steam if you believe that you can handle my bullshit discussions and social interactions conversing with me could satisfy what you are looking for.
As long as I'm not in-game (unless it's a simple or idling/clicking game) I'm always free to chat. Well, sometimes I might be busy watching videos or anime, but that's rather rare during day time, and I just say it right away if I'm busy (rather than half-assing a discussion).
And yeah, if you delete me later, I really won't feel insulted or anything. :P

not really interested in new people unless its for conversation about math and science stuff
Comment has been collapsed.
I see. You probably won't like talking to me then. I don't like math though I do kind of like it because it's a puzzle to me. I like science, however my brain currently cannot process such information right now and my education in the most broadest sense of science is 'minimal' I'd rather just say non-existent. I'd prefer to scratch everything I think I know and relearn things along with learning new things.
Regardless you won't enjoy conversation with me right now at any rate. Sorry.
Comment has been collapsed.
I see. I hope you can find people who won't be hot-headed and ignorant in discussion and thoughts about "math and science stuff"
Most people I see regarding those things are annoying and get all furious and don't just explain things and show evidence and are open-minded about it and so on. I don't know. I just know it seems to be a irritable subject to talk about with people who engage in such discussions from what I see.
Comment has been collapsed.
well thats what i like about science.
if i am wrong and someone has a good argument or proof, i can correct myself and gather new knowledge in the process.
on philosophical stuff there is no right or wrong and you can disuss all day without getting something out of it.
yeah, i am ignorant about stuff that does not interest me and have no problem stating what i think - i do not care about someone being offended, but i am open minded about good arguments.
Comment has been collapsed.
i can see there's an art behind math but not greater than writing, music and many other art forms.
But i would never expect someone like you to talk about something with such a loose definition, since art is whatever you want it to be
Comment has been collapsed.
well, depends, some things like the GTA radio channels are quite nice, but in most games it just annoys me and i turn the backround music off, or make it very quiet.
The sea shanties in AC4 were also ok for a while, but after a while they were too repetetive.
when i played wow back in the days i had sound completely off and watched some tv series or youtube documentaries while playing (on a second screen).
maybe its because i hate loud noise in general, especially high frequencies or very repetetive - thank god for ear plugs :)
i dont really know why, but music was never my thing - well sometimes there is a song i like, but even then its only for a very short time.

Im always happy to know a little more about members of this community, well...the ones that matter anyway
Still i cant meet those requirements, as an introvert and generally laid back person, i dont have the necessity to make this kind of friendships through steam, not that i would ignore someone, i just wouldnt take the initiative.
Here´s some info on me anyway:
. Early twenties
. I play a bit of everything, but i find more enjoyment with creative/authentic games, also Retro games.
. I like animation in general, currently watching Gangsta. Favorite animation series: Classic Simpsons and Futurama
. Im a huge fan of Lynch, Sion Sono, John Carpenter and i probably have an unhealthy fixation with the movie Hausu.
. Music, a bit of everything as long it's good, currently listening a band called Oranssi Pazuzu
. I'm open minded and all about equality, but mostly i just keep it to myself
Nice meeting you

Not that you said I matter, but I don't think I matter in this community XD I hardly interact with the SG community anymore and I haven't made a giveaway in ages. (I should make one next time I get a steam wallet card.)
Also what genre of music is Oranssi Pazuzu?
(Plus most times I make a thread, it becomes "controversial" for whatever reason.)

I have seen you around before, clearly you're still active, more than me at least, i also dont care about GA´s and ratios, most people dont seem to understand the point of the site amway , as long as they create a GA every once in awhile i couldnt care less.
But i think you know what kind of people i am referring to, most of all i hate the ones that think they can prove a point or share an opinion by being as loud and obnoxious as possible
Comment has been collapsed.
I usually just exit said conversation since my conversation partner isn't mature enough to handle said discussion. Not that i'm always the epitome of rationale or open-mindedness. Sometimes i'm rather just irritable and just boldly state things without any evidence or facts and press it on people as the truth. Which isn't the way to go about discussion. However most people I talk to are not worth my time and patience to discuss things. Not that I really discuss things, because I can tell if someone is actually going to consider my words or not pretty quickly. There's a lot of factors, and I don't want to explain the factors, not that I had to.
Anyways I see.

Ah, remember back in the days when you made a similar thread? We didn't click then, and you said we'd probably encounter again. I said that was unlikely, but then I got hooked up to this webpage.

Another early twenties introvert for the pile here. I'm asocial to the point that I haven't seen any of my real world friends for a very long time, probably well over a year by now. I guess the effort required to drag me out of my own head-space has proven too much for them. I lack the urge to socialise. It is very draining and if there are more than 2 other people I usually end up fading back into the shadows as they can sustain conversation without me. However, I do get lonely sometimes (though I feel the ideal solution to that problem would be to remove the cause of loneliness from my brain and be done with it).
I am immersed in gaming. I work as a programmer for games. I come home and play games. If I'm not playing games I'm probably reading about games or watching others play games on Twitch or YouTube.
I have developed a distaste for competitive multiplayer due to a mix of toxic aggression from the others playing and the learning curve being a flat wall due to everyone already having played the game for years before I got there. I don't have a mic, which makes co-op awkward at best. As such I tend to stick to single player games where I can go at my own pace, so only the game and myself are responsible for my enjoyment.
I've enjoyed most of the relatively little anime I've watched, though I haven't yet bothered to seek out many of the ones I hear are good.
Art is fine. I occasionally dabble with some not especially good digital art using GIMP or Blender. My terrible profile picture was made in GIMP using only random scribbles and the smudge tool.
I have enjoyed deep discussions in the past, though the quality of such discussions depends quite a lot on the specific subject matter and the conversation partner. If the subject is not particularly interesting to me or the partner not adding enough to the conversation, it will probably not last long.
I like to think I'm open minded, but that's probably not for me to judge. Science is key. My open-mindedness stops well short of wild conspiracy theories and irrational beliefs.
Equality is important to me. I don't care what arbitrary category someone falls into. A person's actions will colour my attitude towards them.
As with some of the others that posted before me, I won't initiate a conversation. It just won't occur to me normally, or if it does I won't work up the nerve to do so. But if you want to start a conversation and it happens to interest me, I'm usually happy to talk.
Then again, there are probably better people to talk to than myself, but thanks for the opportunity to waste some time writing this.

Oh well, since I'm new I suppose I'll have a go as well.
I'm 15, yes I'm quite young but I don't mind talking to people older than me ( I've had fun on TS ).
I'm a gamer (Whaaat?), I've been playing since I was 9 years I believe. Still in love with Battle for middle earth.
I play about every game that sounds interesting, of course I like CS:GO as well but my favorite game is JC2MP. I suppose my favorite game genre would be RP.
I've also played and loved/love all the co-op games you like especially left for dead 2. Still play it with my friends.
I'm not a big fan of anime, but I do like the style.
I'm a fan of roman art but a hater of modern art.
Like most people I like thinking through what I am going to say.
I listen to music ( Not so weird I suppose :P ). I especially like Two steps from hell but generally I like all music styles.
I am open minded, I don't mind changing my believes ( although I have none right now ) if I feel it is the right thing to do.
And I'll just add something which will hopefully excuse any spelling mistakes I made, I'm not English and sometimes while thinking of what I'm going to write I manage to skip some of the things I wanted to write which makes it just come out as nothing.
And as well, feel free to add me.
Have fun.
Oh and if you don't mind me asking, I had a look at your steam profile and there were 10 pages or so of links. What's up with that if I may be so rude.

I finally got around to reading this. Sorry, i've been dealing with a lot of people and invites >_>
I don't really know what to say in response, so I guess i'll just say something about some things I saw in your response.
"Like most people I like thinking through what I am going to say." most people don't think through what they're going to say.
Also my computer has been broken for awhile and I was using the computers at my local library. So I posted links onto my steam profile because I had no way to save things I wanted to use later. I've been meaning to transfer them into a note, but i'm waiting till my stupid new computer works to do so.
I'm using my broken computer right now; I have it working to operable status. But it constantly shows signs that it wants to die. Lol.

ok :), what do you want to talk about?
I am guessing I should post some info about myself
I'd rather not say my age, I usually only tell people who I have been friends with for some time, if you dont mind ofcourse, I could make an exception
I have been gaming since I was 6 years old, played playstation 2 games with my dad, I still love those games for the great time I had.
I like playing insurgency and counterstrike global offensive, but my internet is pretty much terrible so I play it rarely. Other than that I love RTS games, company of heroes is by far my favorite RTS of all time, I dont play it as much any more because I used to own a retail copy and clocked over 1000 hours on that, so the steam copy is kinda dusty, but who knows I might play some later. and my favorite game of all time? listy time :D
favorite TPS = The Last of Us.
favorite FPS = probably Insurgency.
favorite RTS = Company of Heroes.
favorite RPG = Fallout 3 or Skyrim.
I am not really into co op games, except if they are local co op games, then me and my little brother have loads of fun, castle crashers is high on my list.
I do not like anime. I tried watching it, but never got into it.
I also like art. my dad has made sooo much paintings and wants to start his own museum, he is a collector and his room is half full with paintings and everything that has to do with bob marley.
I do like music, but not in a way that I listen to it all the time. My favorite genres are blues, jazz, reggae.
I have 24 pets, 20 chickens, 3 kittens, 1 dog. while the chickens arent much of a pet, I like saying I have 24 pets ;).
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't know what to talk about, i'm just going to reply to stuff you said in your comment.
I'm fine with you not saying your age, it doesn't bother me.
I see. What games did you play on your PS2?
I read the part you talked about your favorite games, I have nothing to say unless you want me to tell you my favorite games of certain genres.
I like co-op games. I get to observe other peoples actions and decisions. While watching how developed A.I is interesting at times; I often find it vastly boring. People are interesting because you get to see them learn, how they decide to deal with situations, what their thoughts are. It's much more fun, and it's more fun to fight them and test your mettle against other people.
I only like anime when it's good. Regarding story and character development and how fleshed out it all is. Animation is important, but I can overlook some stuff for good story material.
I see.
I see. I listen to an absurd amount of music.
That's a lot of animals.

I played Jungle storm, GTA san andreas, desert storm 1 and 2, conflict zone and a bunch more that kinda forgot the name of but remeber gameplay wise.
I would like to know your favs as well :D
I agree with the point you made about fighting real players is more fun, but I get at least 200+ ping on every game I play online, sometimes there isnt even a single server with ping below a thousand :(. but killing floor offline is super fun when there is no internet.

Once in a while I look on Let's Play Together. In most cases, I have the bad luck that nobody is looking for players to something less popular than CS GO. Out of sheer curiosity, I went to see what it's about this thread. I looked, I read, I smoked a cigarette and all in all I thought, why would not describe myself. And what if something good happens.
Info:
I'm 24 years.
I'm avid gamer, but I'm also addicted to reading paper books.
I played a lot in the Counter Strike at a time when, in my country were popular Internet cafes, but then I discovered Battlefield and I became his cultists. I currently have too many habits of the Battlefield to be able enjoy CS GO and a rage community scares me. There are also a skins and opening boxes. You play a lot, so you know probably what I mean.
As for the cooperation type games. I had a friend with whom finished Borderlands 1 and 2, but our relationship was associated exclusively with the game and then just disappeared, which was quite sad. Playing Left 4 Dead 2 and Sanctum quickly becomes quite boring when played alone, which doesn't change the fact that were a very good games. You don't mentioned two good games: Magicka and Hammerwatch, which to ask to play them with someone.
I looked a couple of anime. I prefer the ones that are long and have dozens of episodes. Currently I'm watching One Piece. I don't know what genre you like, but if you don't mind anime with economy in the background, I can honestly recommend you "C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control".
Recently, compulsively watch the drawings of life in post-apocalyptic realities. Example1 and Example2
I don't really know how to say what kind of music I like. On my playlist I have rock, metal, jazz, soul, blues, pop, shamanic music, anime music, soundtracks from games and movies. Most often I choose rock. A large part of my favorite song is older than me. :) If you like music from the anime I have something for you.
To be or not to be open-minded on 100% isn't quite so simple. Life in all isn't white or black. Most of the time is gray. I think I'm the open-minded rather more than less. As we are gamers and the games integrates us, I really don't care about gender of new friends.
I got for you a curiosity which I was recently discovered. The old experiment and conspiracy theory
Feel free to do whatever you want.

Going through some of your responses here, it seems like people have a better chance to get a tourist visa for North Korea than friends with you. You should not take something as internet friendship so close to the heart. And lighten up a bit, above anything else.

That's fine. I don't care. I like having people that mean a lot to me and being someone that means a lot to them. I want a small amount of friends who're very close to me. Also just because we're friends over the internet, doesn't devalue our relationship.

(9/11/15, still looking.)
Hello. I am creating this post to possibly meet new people that I may perhaps want to get to know and possibly form a friendship with at some point.
I shall put some things about myself down below and what i’m looking for further below that. if you want to ask me some questions please type them in the comments below and I won’t mind answering them. If you think we might get along and want to add me, that’s fine. However, if I feel like our relationship won’t work out, I am going to let you know this and unadd you. If you don’t think you cannot handle sort of thing, please do not add me.
Moving on, here’s some information about me.
I’m in my early twenties
I’m an avid gamer, i’ve been gaming since I was 11 and it’s my absolute favorite hobby.
Currently I like to play a lot of Counter Strike: Global Offensive since I really like high-skill ceiling games that are also team-based.
Some of my favorite co-op steam games include Left 4 Dead 2, Borderlands 2, Payday 2 and Sanctum 2. Though really I just like playing games with people in my personal life in-general. (By this mean I don’t mind just playing any random co-op game as long as it’s with someone I care about.)
I like anime. Currently one of my favorites is Mushi-shi. (I don’t really watch much anime though because I like to interact with my media. (However i’m picky about which anime I decide to watch.))
I really like art. I’m a digital/traditional artist.
I like thinking a lot and discussing things and expressing thoughts and having deep conversations.
I really like listening to music. My favorite genres are hip-hop, jazz, atmospheric hip-hop/jazz.
I am open-minded and I like taking on new ideas and keeping my mind open to new things and perspectives.
Sorry if this seems shallow. I’m introverted and very shy and i’m not particularly good at these types of things at all. I just know i’d prefer to meet people who very much do enjoy pursuing curiosities and learning about the world around us, but are also nerdy and like games and stuff.
I’m looking for an individual who likes to share and express ideas. Someone who likes to talk about their thoughts and curiosities. Also likes to learn about the world around them.
I’m looking for someone who really like video games and likes to PC game a bit.
You are open-minded. (I do not like ignorance and close-mindedness. I’d go as far as to say I hate ignorance and close-mindedness.)
This sounds a bit shallow too, sorry. I’m much more curious about you and who you are than this sounds like I am (I like to get to know those involved in my life very deeply. I prefer to have a few friends who I know very deeply.)
Also just in-case you’d like to know this kind of thing before talking I guess.
I’m completely accepting of all lgbtqia+ members, that goes for sexuality (or lack of) as well.
That also being said, I am a transwoman, so if that’s a problem. Please do not talk to me.
Anywho, if you think you may want to talk to me. Here’s a link to my profile page on Steam. Clicky
Regardless, thank you for reading this and possibly considering talking to me.
Edit: On a side note. I'm kind of sick of the people harassing me and giving me crap just because I'm very careful and I think deeply about who i'm sharing my time with. I'm not going to apologize to you or feel bad because I like having a very tight, close-knit group of friends. Relationships are exhausting for me because I put a lot of effort into my relationship as I care about the people involved in my personal life. I don't wish to have any more than 7 friends. That's a lot for me. On my "friends" list on steam, only 2 out of the 3 are my actual friends. I look for lifelong friends, not just people who'll phase out.
