Its decent, but Supcom1 and forged alliance are better. Its simpler, which usually is bad but sometimes the scope of the first is way too much, when you are in mood for a lighter game supcom2 works.

So very dumbed down from the originals.
Fun for some mindless battles but clearly unpolished.

The aeon have no navy (NONE) where in the original two they had one of the best. Their hover vehicles in no way make up for this, either ran out of funding or publisher pushed the release.

Balance in the game is completely skewed and you essentially spam units and shields to win.
No where near the scale or depth of the original.

Like I said, good for mindless fun, for the times when you just want to watch armies blow up for shits and giggles.

^ this

I play it alot with 1 of my friends just when we don't know what to do and want to see thousands of units blow each other up.

One says it's decent, the other says it's unpolished. I can't make up my mind.

That's why we use metacritic.

I was looking at gamersgate, so I couldn't see metacritic.

I don't know.

Sadly, yes. If you got a chance to grab the first one (or Forged Alliance) get that instead! The first one is better in every way.

It is, if you know what made SupCom so unbelievable good. But it looks you dont even know that.

I spent 30 and 40 hours in first games, only 2 hours in second. Nothing interesting in the 2nd game, dont waste your money.

I know you decided not to get this game, but having played Supreme Commander 2 before buying adding it to Steam, I think it is an above average game. Metacritic gives is a 77 out of 100 with 37 positive, 16 mixed, and 1 negative review. For only $3.75 it is a great deal even though the first was much better. $3.75 is less than the cost on a console game rental now.

for 3.75$ it's totally worth it. even tho it's not that good but if you play with friends it's kinda funny and like I said, for 3.75$ it's totally worth the money.

It's a less complex, more arcade version of Supcom 1. Still fun though. And probably worth 3.75

SupCom 2 is cool, in my opinion. i've logged about 360 hours on it. Multiplayer is probably the main reason to get it, but campaign is cool too..

Can't figure out the code. :S
Too early in the morning.

I think its probably best that you did not go for SupCom 2, but I highly recommend the original, you can easily find the gold edition online or in a game bin somewhere for very cheep, gives both, the first and stand alone expansion.

If you can find a retail copy of supcom 1 or FA, it should give you access to both games (due to some fallout of an agreement with steam, all retail copies of both game are converted to the gold edition)

Should work. Happened for me with a THQ pack I got for my birthday, essentially for two gold editions, gave one to my friend.

7 entries sure is better than 5. If I reach at least 10 entries without leaks, I will give away another copy of the prize in a forum thread. I need help as whether I should do it in a puzzle style like this or a itstoohard quiz.

and #10 signing in. I will not add more to the discussion, except to say that SupCom+Forged Alliance are indeed wonderfully unique games.

SC2 could probably be fun meanwhile, but the name is totally off. It should not have been "Supreme Commander 2" but more like "Regional Skirmish Commander: Action Edition".
