I'm very addicted to watching all kind of tv series. I follow more then 100 different kinds. I even watch more series then I play games

On this moment my favorite ones are for example Bates Motel, Supernatural, The Originals, Criminal minds, Better call Saul, Walking dead, The Big Bang Theory, Once Upon a Time, etc
From the finished, cancelled series my favorites were True Blood, Dexter and Breaking bad

I never could got into the ones with the highest rating Gaming of thrones and House of cards, maybe someday I will try both again

Do you watch tv series? Which ones?

If not just bump the thread so others can join too

few GA with my wishlisted games (so I dont think everyone will like those) I see many people give away a wishlisted game mine is for a long time now the moment of silence, so I'm sharing it with you first

Before you enter: all are steamgifts I will sent those through steamchat, so dont ask to sent it another way please
And if you want to enter and you cant of the evil bl let me know (can also private by steamchat) cause I only have people on who bl me first so I think we can work it out

There is a good amount of nudity and violence in the show, though, so if either of those bother you, it might not be to your liking :X

Have you ever read Tolkien, Lord Dunsany, Moorcock, Lieber, or the other originators of what we call fantasy these days? Chock-full of violence:)

Well A Song of Ice and Fire is as much historical fantasy as anything, and especially Western Europe (more specifically England during the Wars of the Roses with the Starks and Lannisters standing in for the Yorks and Lancasters) and beheading was a very common method of dealing with traitors, lawbreakers, and criminals of many kinds. One reason I love it so much, being equally interested in history as much as fantasy. However since it is fantasy it can at times be much less brutal than the real historical time period. The converse is also true.

In any event, I hope you have a better experience the second time around:)

I don't watch tv that much anymore (because they're very addictive, I have a hard time just watching one episode and it just eats up so much of my time), but some of my favourites are:
Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Hannibal, Breaking Bad, Avatar: the Last Airbender, Elementary, Sherlock, Merlin, and Pokemon. :)

I still really love the original, it's a feel-good show that has me laugh out loud quite often (so many beautiful puns). I watched most of the seasons when I was younger and enjoyed them as well. It's just obviously geared towards kids, so I can see how people my age wouldn't like it anymore.

Oh I watch a looooooot of series as well. Some of my current favourites are Orphan Black, 12 Monkeys, Penny Dreadful, The Expanse, Grey's Anatomy(yes! I'm VERY ashamed of this but it's my guilty pleasure!) and Scream Queens. Also watching The Arrow, Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Game of Thrones, The Last Ship, Shadowhunters, How to Get Away with Murder, The Big Bang Theory, Gotham, Modern Family, Supergirl, House of Cards, Supernatural, Grimm, quantico, Scorpion, the Vampire Diaries, the Originals, Once Upon a Time, The Walking Dead and The Magicians. Also every once in a full moon I binge watch some episodes of Golden girls or Will&Grace :P
Also absolutely looooooooove the original Heroes series. The new one was just dissapointing.

House M.D. was a great one indeed! Took me almost a full year before I could watch Once Upon without seeing the protagonist as her House role :P
Grey's actually started airing back when I was at school so it was all the rage back then in my social circle, even as cheesy as it is, so I started watching it then. 12 years later I still do even though it's genre usually does absolutely nothing for me. Not a single one of the other series I watch is even similar lol

have you seen the 4 Scream movies?
I'm a big fan of the movies and what I really liked about the series was that they made fun of the stupid decissions characters in horror movies always make, like "We should split up to cover more ground" :D

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I never tried it cause I haven't watched the movies except for the first one and I was never really a fan of it. With Scream Queens I just love how they take every single generic horror trope and character stereotype and blow it completely out of proportions. If Scream does something similar and you're not missing out on a lot of refereces withotu having seen the movies I might give it a try.

Permalink

I think you don't have to see the movies before watching the series but its's definetly more fun if you have..
scream tv series is definitely not as exaggerated and a bit more serious, but it still makes fun of the typical horror movie character

I didn't like it at first either and now it's one of my favorite shows. You have to watch a minimum of three episodes before you can decide whether you do or do not like a show in my experience (especially true for GoT). For me the worst part about GoT was not understanding what anyone was talking about because you don't know the names, families, etc...

the worst part for me was when they chop of all the heads I thought huh this has to be a fantasy genre it didnt fit

There are a decent amount of violent/brutal scenes (though not as much as some shows) and a fair amount of nudity. The violence is kind of on par with what you would see on The Walking Dead though. The show has fantasy/magic elements to it, but they aren't the main focus. My best advice for anyone would be to just watch the first three episodes, if you don't like it after that you probably aren't going to like it.

The last finished series that I watched were (in this order) Parks & Rec, Six feet under, and, Curb your enthusiasm.
All three were awesome and I'd recommend the first two to everybody. Curb your enthusiasm is one of those that you can either love or just don't like it, but it's worth the shot imo.

Permalink

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Maybe you should. Parks and Rec is an american sitcom, 20 minutes per episode.
Six feet under is from HBO, pretty much the same style than The Soprano.
And CyE is also a commedy but you have to like that kind of humor.
Anyway, you can do some research on youtube and then decide wether you want to watch them or no. I should say that I have some times cried (because of extreme laugh) watching Parks and Rec.

If you finally make your mind to watch any of those tell me how you liked them.
