Not saying thanks will get you blacklisted by people who consider you an ungrateful bastards. Saying thanks will get you blacklisted by people who consider you a thanks-spammer or a thanksbot. Source: personal experience. Either way you'll get blacklisted eventually.

There is a difference between spamming thanks everywhere and saying thanks for game that you won.

Like I said, personal experience. I thanks people for their giveaway, I got blacklisted. I stopped thanking people, I don't get blacklisted as frequently. Either the givers ran a mass-blocking script and I got in the crossfires, or they don't like "thanks" notification in general, I don't know. But there's no such thing as a correct way to thank people and don' get blacklisted in the process.

Yet - after introduction of notifications - any kind of mass produced comments is not welcome. Generic thanks messages included.
On the other hand ga creator usually likes to see "thank you" message after the ga is over.

I only wrote "thank you" after receiving a key, right from the start :(
I'll try to write a thank you message without the word "thank" from now on then, let see if I'm getting blacklisted again or not.
BTW, I just got a new blacklist, and since I've only commented here for today, that means me explaining my position offended someone enough that they blacklist me. So much for a civilized conversation.

Being noticed is sometimes enough xD what if somebody hates letter "f"? and your nick starts with "f"...

Also - that might be not connected with saying thanks or not in case of won giveaways. I saw some people here who just blacklist their winners - so nobody can win a game from them twice :) Idk why but, you know - any reason is good :)

That's the point! Unironically. You can't do anything with other people (especially toxic people), but you can change your own attitude :) Just don't think about blackilsts :) Focus on good sides of this site and community.

After 30,000 entries in 9 years, and being added to 64 blacklists in the past year, it's time to make some giveaways for you all.
