I won a version of a game but received a key for different version that has its own separate steam page. I don't mind it as it's basically the same game and I'll still play it, but will Steamgifts show that I don't have all my wins activated??

You can check that for yourself here: https://www.sgtools.info/activation

Yeah, I haven't marked it as received yet because I don't know if it would affect me negatively or something if the game ends up not being recognized as activated.
SGTools shows inactivated but I guess it's because of that.

Yes, I just won it 30mins ago. The giveaway was for Jagged Alliance 2 Gold, but the key I received is for Jagged Alliance 2 Wildfire.

Yeah, I wouldn't want the gifter to have to buy anything extra or be penalized. I already messaged him suggesting to contact support.

Just contact the gifting person and ask her/him* to delete the GA. If you accept and mark as received you might even get suspended (had that once in a similar case).

FG10 actually has to give the gifter permission to contact Mods/Admin to delete the GA. And the gifter will need a SS of the conversation where FG10 clearly states they are okay with the GA being deleted. The first option is complete ass. If someone did that and forced me into purchasing something over a mistake, I'd delete my account and never come back in all honesty. What I did as a gifter with my Livelock GA which was won by a Russian without me realizing the game was Region locked in Ukraine and Russian Federation. They told me without asking they were cool with me deleting the GA. So I had it deleted. But I gave them a choice from my keys that I had to replace Livelock. They chose Torchlight II and were very happy. And just to show how cool this situation got, they ended up giving me a key for A Story About My Uncle. So a blunder ended up turning into a trade of sorts. =)

Thank you for your input decriminalization. I had already contacted the gifter to suggest him contacting support, but I have now added that I am ok with him deleting the GA.

If the version you were given is not what was in the giveaway then it will look like you didn't activate the win.

I think for this kind of situation, either you or the gifter can contact support and ask that the giveaway be changed to the right version. I believe you would also have to make a comment on the giveaway page saying that you want to happen.

I've never had a problem like that so I'm not 100% sure if that can be done though.

Jagged Alliance 2 Gold includes JA2 and Unfinished Business and it's published by Strategy First. Jagged Alliance 2: Wildfire is published by Topware Interactive and is basically a paid mod of JA2. The JA franchise has a rather tumultous history. And since Strategy First got their paws on the IP, it got worse.

Jagged Alliance: Wildfire, english version is 6.04. The german version is 6.06 and the russian is 6.08. The modder that made Wildfire had a fallout with Strategy First, that contracted him to develop a new expansion (instead you get a JA2 heavily modified) and moved to a different publisher.

JA2 Gold includes a series of "improvements" made by the modding community.

IF you want JA2 and Unfinished Business, with only compatibility patches and none of the so called improvements, your best bet is GOG. The GOG versions have only the official patches, made by the developer (Sir-Tech), plus GOG's compatibility patches (the ones that ensure that the games are working on the most recent operating systems).

P.S.: i think that the rules are clear - either he gives you the correct key, or you can mark it as not received.
