i get 1.4mb/s on steam.

1Gbps (yes, 1000Mbit = 120MB/s) DL and some shitty UP (about 5-20Mbit)
Can't find good speedtest server to reach more than 250Mbit, heh

Currently, 98k/s down, 0.08 up. Yep, it's fucking awful. But thats what happens when you live in a non-affluent part of Mexico City.
My speeds in the UK were 18m/s down and 10m/s up. I miss it.

You obviously have no knowledge of internet speed.
mb/s is not Megabytes per second. It is MegaBITs per second. 100 megabits is only 12MegaByte download speed.
Steam doesn't use all your internet, and if you are downloading something else/other people are using the internet it slows down.

Damn. Your Internet if fast as light. I pay 15$ for UP TO 3mbps down and 512 up. This means, that while working with servers in my country it works nice, with the signal abroad - it sucks. Ping is always higher that 100.

You may want to download cgf (or how are they called) files from torrents, there's nothing illegal in that unless your download no cracked/hacked files, and the speed would be awesome :)
