The fans expectations are too high so VALVe is probably hesitant of releasing a game that would get a big backlash from the fans like how ME3 and it's ending did, also what explanation could they possibly come up with for GMan that hasn't already been conjured up by fan theories? It really seems like a tough job which is why I think it's taking so long for HL3 to release (if it's ever going to release)

[Have you seen the video with the hundreds of bats] :O, Why yes it took a 2nd gen hexa core i7 to run all of the AI for the bats, still looked cool has hell and Valve might be able to lessen the amount of code used :D
I would not care if the game used the same graphics engine as Half-Life 2, as long as it still has an amazing story line and has some great puzzles in it still, then I will be happy ^.^

Well as long as they explain everything that's gone through Ep1, 2, gordon and of course Gman and the characters, i will be pleased.

I expect that HL3 will be released in the next millennium. That's all.
