you can get free extra Dead Space key as well. just download and run once your Steam copy of the game and go to your System Registry and look for Dead Space entry and there the key will be :)

I was suspicious when I saw a "PSA" post by non-staff. Now, I know why. This entire thing of "give a copy of your game to a friend" smacks of exploitation and/or a violation of the EULA. I really dislike EA (and Origin), but I'll pass on this.

The tricks where you get keys from the registry for Dead Space or whatever are a bit sketchy, but this is pretty legitimate. My theory is that EA made it so that Origin keys would be made available for all Steam games released during the period of transition to Origin, and some of those games just happened to end up in the Origin Bundle. The reason they gave everyone additional Origin keys with the bundle is that it would be too confusing to have to tell everyone to install the game on Steam to get their Origin keys (not to mention that it would be embarrassing if people had to install Steam to get their Origin keys), so they just gave everyone the extra key to keep it simple.
But don't worry, they wouldn't have made those Origin keys so readily available if they didn't intend for people to redeem them.

It't not only violation of the EULA, it's piracy as i pointed out in the other thread. You're essentially copying your game which is illegal if you give it to a friend

PSA: Giving away or trading individual keys from Hunble Origin Bundle is against Humble Bundle's "Terms of Service" (you shouldn't buy again if you don't agree their terms), providing the Origin keys given from Humble Bundle to a third person while you are using the Steam ones is duplicating the game, copyright infringement, piracy. Exploiting to get an extra key for Origin from Steam is even worse.

It's not exploiting, they gave you a free key and you used it. Giving keys from Humble Bundles to other people is indeed against Humble Bundle's rules, but that has never been a rule that this website was particularly opposed to violating, so I didn't worry about it.
There's no copyright infringement or piracy or duplication of a game going on here; you are only violating Humble Bundle's Terms of Service, which gives Humble Bundle the right to take away away your downloads page or licenses (however, given that Steam Gifts is regularly swamped with Steam keys taken from Humble Bundles, Humble Bundle clearly doesn't utilize this right very often).

Wait, exploiting what? You might as well say its exploiting when a game gets greenlit and you get a steam key from desura.

No, that's not exploiting at all. First off, they advertise getting the Steam key from greenlight as a selling point nine times out of ten. Second off, it's still 1 person playing and owning it, even if it's through 2 different clients or machines. If you buy a bundle with DRM free games, it's piracy if you keep the DRM free versions and give away the keys or vice versa. Same thing with this.

Pretty much this. I love how the internet always tries to have their cake and eat it too. "Well, their ToS is stupid, so I'm going to still buy it, but ignore it and do whatever I want." That's not how it works, people. I'm no lawyer, but I'm pretty sure buying 1 license and getting 2 or 3 (if you activate on Steam and give away your Origin and 'extra' Origin copy) people to play is pretty much wrong, ig not illegal or at least breaking the ToS no matter how you slice it.

I don't know how EA does multiplayer or if this is indeed the case, but I'd recommend giving your friend the key that came with your Humble Bundle, and using the Steam CD key for yourself. That way, your friend does indeed have a different CD key and there's no risk of multiplayer problems.

When you buy a Humble Bundle, you're paying for a license to be used by one person for each game. They are generous to give you various options of platforms for your license. You get a Steam license, a Desura license, a DRM-free license, or even Origin license, but its intended to essentially be ONE LICENSE for ONE PERSON. When you pay for one bundle and then let multiple people access the same games, it's piracy.

Debatable, especially considering this site's opinion on splitting up Humble Bundle keys. This is no more in violation of the TOS than that is. Origin decided to hand out 3 keys, which implies they should be used. I have no interest in doing any of this myself, due to dislike of the Origin platform.

Due to the way that some of EA's games on Steam are set up, it is possible to get a second Origin key for Crysis 2, Medal of Honor, and Burnout Paradise. Once you have redeemed those games on Steam, go to them in your Steam library and click the "CD key" link in the right sidebar. You can redeem that key in Origin the same way you redeem any other Origin key. Give those to a friend or drop them here on the forums or something. This trick also works for any other EA game on Steam that comes with a CD key.
P.S. PSA means "Public Service Announcement"
EDIT: A lot of people have expressed concerns about the legality of using this. By giving a key from your Humble Bundle to someone else, you are indeed violating Humble Bundle's Terms of Service, and they do technically have the right to revoke your download access and/or licenses. This website is regularly filled with giveaways for keys taken from Humble Bundles, which violates Humble Bundle's ToS for the same reasons, so I didn't give a second thought to posting this here. However, if you do not wish to violate Humble Bundle's ToS, do not give any of your keys to anyone but yourself.
