so i gave away 2x Gravity Badgers lately. I sent out the emails pretty quickly (same day, i believe). that was on May 8th. then i saw 3 days ago, that one of the guys marked it as not received. i checked my emails. i sent the email to the correct address. the indiegala gift link is valid (and still unused). so i fullfilled my part, as i always do. might be a simple mistake. sometimes people don't check their spam folder. no big deal. so i tried to contact him. i am waiting for 3 days now, that he accepts my add. he is constantly online and played several games since then (so he is definitely not afk). i also posted on one of his videos, which he should definitely see as a notification. he just doesn't seem to be willing to react in any way.

i have to say, i am a little pissed. this is not how i like my giveaways. while i did my part, he marks it as not received without contacting me at all. then he ignored my several attempts to contact him. i am so close to just give away his link so someone else. i want giveaways to be a nice thing. i don't want to be treated lke that. it kind of kills my willingness to give him the game. :(

oh, and on top of that, he is kind of a leecher.

what do you guys think? am i overreacting? what should i do? wait even longer? or just do what i by now really want to do and give the game to someone else?

he/she might have had something come up in their life (bad grades, big test, death, etc). Give him a little more time, do one more contact, and if you get nothing, move on.

well, don't you think he would have ignored the whole thing then, instead of marking it as not received? as i see it, before you mark a giveaway as not received, you should try to contact the creator.

I would ask support before giving it to someone else.

I hate it when a leecher wins one of my giveaways, thats instant blacklist for him. Too bad its not reason for a re-roll.

Send support a screenie of the email and they'll be able to mark it as received for you. IMO you've done your part and are now justified in passing the game onto someone else just don't create another giveaway in case it does get used.

Is the indiegala linked to their account or can you redeem it yourself and ask for a reroll? And even if you did redeem the link would they still be able to see the cd-key? Just in case they decide to look and activate it after you reroll and are waiting for the other person to activate it.

Or I'd just contact support, include a screenshot of the email from your sent folder, and ask if they can mark it as received or anything else in this situation.

if i decide to give it to someone else, then i will just post it here. so there would be no risk that he claims it while a new giveaway is running.

This is a weird story. Why would someone do this? This guy has 106 wins and 6 of them are marked as not received. All the others "not received" games are from unexperienced or even suspended users that might actually be true "not received" GAs. It still leaves 100 marked as received games, so I see no real reason why he would do such a thing to you.
I wonder why he is not responding to you. Is adding on Steam the only method you tried? Maybe you could post a reply in an old giveaway from him? This way he will get a notification. Maybe his email is not up to date and he didn't receive it. Or it' ended up in his spam folder?! Can this be something personal? Did you ever talk the guy and piss him off before?
Weird. Not even sure if support can do anything about it....

If he proves (usually with a screenshot) he sent the gift, support can change the status to received, and probably suspend the other guy for not activating a game.

as i said, i tried another method to contact him. i posted on one of his videos, which definitely should give him a notification on steam. he played different games during the last days. he should have seen it.

if his email is not up-to-date, or it went to his spam folder, or he didn't get the email for some other reason, why didn't he contact me then? would that not be the reasonable thing to do? if i win something and don't get it, i contact the giveaway creator after a while. i don't just mark it as not received.

no, i don't think it is something personal. i don't think i know this guy. for a while, i even had the idea that he doesn't want another game right now, because he had 888 games, and nearly as many dlc's. i really thought it might be possible that he wants 888 games and 888 dlc's and wouldn't accept the game for this reason, lol. in the meantime he got one new game, so that's not it. ^^

maybe i'll just contact support and send them a screenshot of my email. not sure what that really proves, but people in here seem to be convinced that support will mark the game as received then.

Support will mark the game as received. It happens quite a lot, actually.

I will close this thread because we've had a few inappropriate incidents with similar threads this week.

About what you should do, since you mention the gift/key is not claimed, you should submit a reroll request when you can. About the winner, if they missed the mail and haven't seen it, they are supposed to mark it as Not Received. That's what everyone recommends if they haven't received the gift, since that both alerts the creator that something hasn't gone right and saves the winner from a suspension.
