With the Steam Link App I set up a game room, now I'm looking for some fun party and local co-op games. So far Move or Die has been "too fast" and overcooked has been spot on.

Osmos and Mini metro have both been mellow and fun. Duke Nukem Manhattan project was fun but only single player.

Please recommend some good games. Thanks!

the sky force games have local co-op and imho they are not too fast for a shmup.
the first one is on sale for a buck right now and single player is fun as well.

I've enjoyed overcooked a lot with my cousin, I'd definitely vouch for it, we have overcooked 2 to try out in plans for tomorrow.

Cuphead is great for 2 players, frustrating, but enjoyable.

Cook, Serve, Delicious 2 supports local co-op but I never liked it for 2 players setup for some reason, maybe you'll have better luck, the game is awesome for one player.

Lastly, very old bundle gem, adventures of shuggy, very fun puzzle-platformer that I've also greatly enjoyed with my cousin.

At least 3 of those are great, I'd suggest overcooked and shuggy first.

Marooners, Chompy Chomp Chomp, Frog Climbers, Jamestown, Neighborhorde, Super Kitty Boing Boing, Circuit Breakers, and Tumblestone are all good fun for 30-45 minutes at a time.

  • Ultimate Chicken Horse is crazy good fun, handicapping can make it stay fun regardless of skill levels. Once you get some experience with the game, and unlock stuff, you'll be able to dial in the ruleset that works best for your group and it's really great.
  • Human Fall Flat was really fun for us with players and watchers, switching out who's playing. We mostly ignored the story and tried to do dumb things, like take the TV out the exit (I'm pretty certain it doesn't fit). Or doing the whole train station while carrying my suitcase (the video tape).
  • Super Motherload was fun for me with 2 players who are enjoying it, and willing to take your time
  • Sacred Citadel is a great classic-style beat-em-up, with shops and upgrades
  • Megabyte Punch is like a crazy MegaMan-ish thing, except all your body parts are changeable and come with special powers. It's splitscreen co-op, so you're in the same level, but you can each be anywhere in the level.

Guacamelee, Lost Castle, Magicka, Caveblazers, Don't Starve Together, A Hat in Time, Rampage Knights and Cuphead (already mentioned)

I played all of these with my son and we enjoyed it very much each one.

Crawl is amazing, if by "fun" you mean "I want to strangle my friend who keeps pumping big ass slimes in a room with 4 monsters and traps"

TowerFall is my all time favorite local multiplayer game.
Rocket League is my second favorite.
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is great co-op.
CastleCrashers is a good beat-em-up game.

If you like Overcooked, I'd also suggest Overcooked 2, Catastronauts, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime and ADIOS Amigos.

Trine franchise is amazing for co-op, and Nine Parchments (their most recent title) is too.

Magicka and HELLDIVERS are also amazing, lots of friendly-fire and laughs.

Dungeon Siege 3 and Victor Vran if you're into ARPGs.

Full Metal Furies, Sundered, Neon Chrome, Die for Valhalla, Last Encounter, Vagante for some great action.

Spelunky!
Although, difficulty level in this game is high. I played it numerous of times with my sister and also with children of age 11. We all had a lot of fun.
