So I decided to try 2 of the HRK golden egg, first off it says 99 cent USD per chance. Once I selected paypal that was upgraded to $1.12 USD however was charged $1.17 USD per chance. I won Clockwise and Dawn Of Magic 2 (Time of Shadows). So here they are for you.

Applying a surcharge for using paypal or credit cards is against their agreements. You can probably file a complaint with paypal if you care about the 36 cents (about the same as paypal's transaction fee, which merchants are not allowed to pass on to the customer), or do it just on principle.

no - it isn't in this case, as the fee is for using their payment system - which handles your payment using paypal - neat little trick they did there, to sidestep the fee issue - you will note that you always go through their payments system first - which is what the charge is for :P

I've never purchased from the site so I can't verify, but are you saying that they simply have a handling fee for purchases with ANY form of payment? That is certainly allowed, so long as the fee is the same for all payment types. They are just not allowed to discriminate and punish users for using one payment option over another.

it is their site - they could charge you a fee for just visiting it if they wanted to, so not sure where you get the idea that they are not allowed to disciminate/punish users :P

when you pay you go through their site you use a payment clearing system - called G2APay (this is not part of HRK but a seperate entity) - that company charges a fee for collecting payments from all sources on each companies behalf - and so what they charge for each one is up to them - remember credit/debit cards charge a fee as well, which can be more expensive than paypal, and so G2APay can charge what they want to deal with such payments on behalf of HRK and others who use their payment system; this is a merchants fee so to speak - very annoying, but perfectly legal ! (same crappy charges are added to sales from the grey site g2a.com - so probably all owned by them)
