Ahoy SG community,
I would like to seek some of your expertise with a question I have.
I want to buy a region free key for GTA 3 (Not region restricted-Global)
Whenever I visit GTA 3 on steam it gives me that the product is not available in your region.
Which brings me to this question, if I redeem the code will I be able to install-play the game normally?
Please note that this scenario is different from the region restricted keys.
I'm hoping someone that had already tried this answers.

Peace!

Edit: The game worked fine! I downloaded, installed, and played the game without any issues. Although i still cant visit the store page for the game but thats more than fine.
So if you have a region free key for a game that shows a store error when you're trying to visit the game's store page(as shown in the pic above).
You can activate the key and play normally
Hope someone benefits from this
Thanks for everyone's feedback

Being invisible for you in the Steam store doesn't mean that keys can't be activated in your store region. However, keys for such games can be additionally restricted to not be useable without VPN (old) / within your store region (new).

Regarding GTA specifically: you are aware that there are region free keys for the whole collection? Or is GTA 3 the only missing one? And if you plan to buy it from grey market, just use PayPal, to be able to easily get a refund.

Thank you for the feedback! I am getting a key GTA 3 Region Free Key from gamivo. I can't afford the whole collection at the moment. Also thanks for the advice, sadly PayPal does not operate in my country.

I think I activated keys for games that are not sold in my region in the past, so, as long as the GTA3 key you get is region free, you should be fine.
As long as the game is simply not for sale in your country, instead of being banned and geolocked, it should work.

That can no one really answer in general but maybe for this game because sometimes it is possible to activate a game if you get a key from a other region but sometimes it doesn't.
In both cases you see in your own region only a "not accessible" store page, so it is not clear for which ones it will work and for which ones not.

I would say, in general, are your chances 60% that it work.

I hope someone can help with this games info.

Weird thing is that GTA 5 is available for me on the store(I own it), same for San Andreas. Yet Vice City and GTA 3 don't appear. Thanks for the feedback, i'm hoping for the same.

If you can activate the game, then you can play it.
For example, F.E.A.R.2 is not available in my region and Silent Hill: Homecoming, but I can activate the keys and play them without any problems (i just checked it)

There is pretty much unknown by the wide public fact, that there is 90 day cooldown for a game to become playable anywhere, even if it the key was region-locked. As in - imagine you are travelling and got a key for a region your steam account is originally from. You can still activate it anywhere without any VPNs because your steam store country fits the region. But you won't be able to play such game right away, as you will get the message that you have to be located in the region the game is for as well. After 90 days this restriction disappears
