Trading Cards.... why?

Can anyone give me some reasons why you would want to even collect or get the trading cards? It has to be the most pointless thing steam has to offer... So you play the game, get some dumb digital cards to build dumb digital badges? that's sooooo cool.....smh. Maybe I miss the concept or something? idk. seems dumb on about 10,000 levels to me.

omg.... theres about 100000000000000000000000000000 threads on here... I care little about adding a new thread, facking steam police. you must be proud Mr.Steam Police Man. you have saved the forum from utter destruction by ridding the forum of duplicates. you should get paid for this, or free games. without you the world of steam forums would be lost for all eternity, buried beneath a thousand years of duplicated threads.
