So yeah that time of the year again, and no i am not digging it at all.
Also just a bad time, they already cut me off my meds cold turkey for 3 months, then had to wait 6 more weeks because everyone was on holiday and heard today that i should just wait "patiently" 7 more months till its my turn with the shrink. I don't know how you can wait patiently with (severe) anxiety, i just told them they could stuff the whole shrink thing, i will find ways myself then to cope with it.
Also didn't get a second job interview (but secretly hoping it wouldn't get through anyway because of reasons).

"The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death."

Anyyyway you just come here for the gifts, so:

https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/6lKqD/silver-chains
https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/J7aYw/middle-earth-shadow-of-mordor-game-of-the-year-edition

I was going to gift return of monkey island when it came out, but it kinda came way earlier then expected and there is no financial room atm so sorry, maybe next month, and maybe not (times are getting harsher financially these days), we will see.
I did get it myself though, and very anxiously waiting for it's release date, and hoping the gameplay would just be as good.

I will thank anyone that congratulates me in advance or wait on thursday, as i am way too lazy to reply to everyone personally as always. :p So no offense.

And offcourse no topic without from me without some mood giv..music....
One more for the road.

Happy early birthday!

Wishing you all the best with the medical issues - it's never easy having to deal with this stuff, especially when you're not getting all the support you should. I hope you find a treatment that works well for you in the meantime while they get their act together. Not sure if it would be right for you or not (or if they are allowed in your country) but there seems to be an increasing amount of positive results from people micro dosing psilocybin for depression and anxiety and ptsd.

Thank you for contributions to this site. When I joined one of the first things I did was try to enter one of your giveaways but I was absolutely stumped how to do so... clearly I had a lot to learn since your giveaways really aren't that hard to figure out (once you know what to look for haha). Also FFVIII is a pretty good game :)

Thank you, and that thing was actually a gimmick i "borrowed" from another user which actually had me stumped for a while until people hinted at a solution. :)

Never heard of psilocybin before.

Hey, happy early birthday! Hope things improve for you soon. Is that big HDD you shucked still working out alright?

Thank you, it's working great, it's constantly working! Although i had to look for specific files, and offcourse cant find it, but still had 1 disk acting up before, this time couldn't access it, i stupidly did clean in diskpart, which i learned will totally clean your disk, the disk seems whole again however i lost all data. It had my resume/cv on it which i already luckily copied elsewhere, but i have no clue what else i lost, luckily it was only a 1 tb drive with 600gb used (which i can probably can get most back).

For hard drives it's more efficient to not actually delete the files and just store them in a way you can't see. The files will be overwritten if you start downloading games to it and such, so you should act fast if you still can and use something like Recuva to get those files. Some portable hard drives have chips that encrypt such information and it can't be accessed by a normal user (like in your case, where you get prompted with a format popup). Data Recovery labs usually have machines which can retrieve the encryption key from them and recover data smoothly. Yeah this is a bit random in a train, but I still enjoy lurking into forums even after looking at them.

Yeah but it was never my intention to get them deleted. For some reason the disk was already divided in 2 volumes, but i always had to choose import in disk management to make them work again, however this time it was not an option. And it said to run chkdsk but how if they can't be seen?
I remembered some cleaning function in diskpart that would clear the mbr info, but apparently that wasn't the clean command, afterwards i could only select new volume in disk management and it formatted automatically, i don't think there is much left to be recovered, nor do i ever really trust recovered files.

I know atleast my resume/cv is safe, there weren't pictures on the disk so i just make myself believe there wasn't anything important worth on it (and maybe there was) but games i can always reget.

Hm, that's a bit above my knowledge, seems strange that it was in 2 volumes, probably had to do with the encryption or something. If it didn't have important data (according to you) so you should be fine. Good information to know for when you buy a another external hard drive though.

Well i have more bays then sata connections so sometimes i plug them out, it doesn't always seem to like that and then the disk goes to foreign (why i need to import or initalitize), not to mention some drives are like 10 years old.. (never the space and money for backups, risky i know) and being just 1tb it probably was old, and it wasn't an external drive, this was a genuine internal one. ;)
Eventually if i could afford it i would have replaced all my internal ones with 18tb or something anyway at some point.

You could say I have equal bays and SATA connections since I'm on a laptop (has 1 more slot for a 2'5 inch hard drive or SSD, main storage is an M.2 WD SN530 drive). My older laptop has a hard drive that is getting close to 6 years old and is reporting some issues, but it's not in use frequently, nor does it have sensitive data. I backup some important data on a flash drive, but this is effective as I managed to corrupt it just by slightly bumping it (probably disconnected from the PC), and on my phone I have OneDrive, which backups stuff like pictures and screenshots. Looks like I understood it wrong and had mistaken it for a external one, oh well.

We almost lost a harddrive or usb drive (can't remember) that had like all family photos on it and my dad back then didn't thought about backing up, we were so lucky to get it all back. Also had 2 or 3 times tbe MBR just got screwed up, also can't connect to your data, also managed to get it back, i always been lucky so far (knock on wood). Even had some hdd forensic software back at that time, it was very good and useful.

Also always disconnect an usb drive through windows (yeah i never did for a long time either) but that also can corrupt your files if you just pull it out.

Loosing memories is not fun. It happened twice with 2 phones, once a Nokia 5.1 which decided to shit the bed and never work again and the other one I can't remember. I could reflash Android on the Nokia but it'd be too much effort, I'd have to open up the phone and flash via test pads on the CPU because I can't get Windows nor Linux to recognize it. I've never had a use for dats recovery software as I've been fortunate enough to not encounter such issues, but it something useful in case of an emergency or something.

Oh, this one, there's a lot of debate around it but I'd say you should do it, I know people who had data loss beyond the point of recovery software even recognizing anything on it. Better be safe than sorry.

Oh no! Do you have any additional external drives? Always good to have the important stuff backed up in multiple places. You never know when they might start to fail too. It’s also a good idea to keep track of the SMART data. I recommend HD Sentinel - I could see on the graph one of my internals die over a few months as it got more and more reallocated sectors.

I already got 70tb of external drives, and i need atleast 100tb more. 18tb costed me 300 euro, 90tb would cost 1500 euro. twice that would be 3000. There is no way i can afford it, like i said in the other topic, i should have been saving for furniture for my own place like 7 months ago already, it's probably not wise to even get some 18tb ones but i probably am too stubborn to do so anyway.

Wow that’s a lot! I just meant for selectively backing up important things like photos. You can re-download game installs like you said, so you shouldn’t need to backup those.

Oh yeah. photos are backed up offcourse, well game files i could still get again for now, but offcourse you will never know how it will go with the internet (and the world) in the future, i already would have expected that a lot would have been closed down, because wasn't there some sort of law some years ago?

Also i did once deleted a bunch of files to make room for something else, then the site went down. :p (now i find another source though so all is good) but again, you never know.

I seen someone with 600TB, he must have a very big raid with a big electricity bill.

Happy early birthday! =)

Surely you have already heard a lot of advice, but if there is a chance that it will help, I must give my advice too. Fast walking helped me with anxiety. On average, I walked 5 km every 2 days. To a state of good fatigue. Not to exhaustion, but not too far from it.

It took a long time, 1-2 years, but the anxiety gradually decreased until it completely disappeared. It only appears when I drink too much caffeine. But now the attitude towards it is indifferent.

Thanks, i did jog for 2 years or so, or rather climb up and down a small hill (because that i felt in my stomach, not with normal jogging).
Then the winters became too cold, the summers too hot, corona and before you know it you making excuses, you stay in.
I was going to atleast pick 2 days a week to atleast walk around the block (5km might be a bit far), just to be out, but it just never came (but we did have an extreme heat the last month(s). It's also a matter of kicking your own butt to action eh?

First time i hear caffeine might be impacting, so perhaps drink less tea and coffee myself?
