Hello all,

I just wanted to share something with you, wich i stumbled upon on youtube ! This add-on basicly tells you what the sites you are on share with other sites, or entities.

The video i saw on youtube spoke about how internet sites share your information with alot of people and some guy in the comment section spoke about ghostery wich can tell you if information is shared and block it. It also (If you let them) sends ''anonymous'' information to their databank so they can analyse it. They can alsso send info to the BBB, or another i forgot.

You know what, just watch the video and search Ghostery on google, i don't think i can sum this up nicely ! : This guy

EDIT : Works on firefox, chrome, IE, etc.

I had it at one point but it would sometimes make websites I was looking at not work (by blocking parts of the page from other sites) and the Chrome extension is too annoying to turn it off quickly to check out a website.

I use it. And Adblock Plus. And NoScript.

Because, damn it, I want to control what comes through my web browser. *shakes fist defiantly*

Yeah, NoScript can be a bit of a pain at times, though I'm quite happy with it now that I've built up what feels a reasonable whitelist of the sites I normally use and some of the more useful 3rd party elements.

been using it and adblock for a while, if someone ever built a popular browser with nonsharing as a base, it would really disrupt web commerce and analytics

I've been using it for a long time too, on all my browsers (primarily Chrome and Opera).
It's ... interesting ... to see how many places some pages gets their tracking scripts from.
