O_O There are a lot of books. The massive movement into the expanded universe started at the beginning of the 90's with the release of the Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zhan. They are kinda thought of as Episodes 7,8, and 9 prior to the Disney acquisition. There are many more as well.

To summarize, basically there are rumors that they are casting two twins to be trained by Luke. On the off chance this is true I'm even more excited about further Star Wars movies than I have been before.
And for those that are quick to hate on the new trilogy... lets all remember Disney is currently responsable for the recent Marvel movies. So lets put a little faith in JJ Abrams and Disney.
