Today I saw on the steam bundle page (https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/45755/Horizon_Zero_Dawn_Remastered_Bundle/) that 'Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered' would cost less than 6 dollars in my local price (South America/Brazil) because I already own 'Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition' on my Steam account.

I don’t know how much it will cost in Euros or Dollars or other countries, but if you already own 'Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition', it’s worth checking whether you can get the Remastered version for a much lower price than what has been seen before (for me it came out as if it were 88% OFF). I just couldn’t pass it up ;)

Your 88% off is wrong. If you already own the old version of the game, the upgrade always was available for 10€. With 40% off in the sale, that's your 6€. Nothing special about it. But it is a good price.

I said it came out for less than 6 in my local price. The price of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered for me is R$ 249.99, and in this bundle it cost R$ 30.
So it ended up being about 88% off (that’s why I suggested everyone check their own local price to see if it’s worth it ;)

When a game released 2020 on Steam needs a remaster there's two possibilities: either the original release was completely incompetent and chances are the remaster is too or there's a huge CASHGRAB sign on the remaster.

2017 release, but yeah point stands. It's more in line with TLOU remaster honestly. Better textures, facial expressions, etc.

2017 release,...

Yes, yes that's why I wrote release on Steam 2020. I was under the illusion a publisher would polish a game before releasing on the dominant pc platform but that's wishful thinking obviously.

PlayStation Studios has removed some of their titles from Steam in my country including this one (I don't know why), If I buy a key from somewhere else, can I still activate it?

Yes, it is a "complete the set" type bundle. If you own the original base Horizon Zero Dawn, you can still buy the dlc upgrade pack with the 40% discount applied onto the dlc price tag only.

Thank you, I will look into something, Fanatical now show the "Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered" is not activated from my country.
Probably they complete banned this game for my country.

The game won't activate in Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Russia, North Korea, Syria, and Viet Nam. I looked at your profile, and I saw you're from Viet Nam, so. That sucks, buddy. :(

That list makes me think it's related to US sanctions. But I don't think there's much of anything affecting Viet Nam these days, which is weird. Sorry. :(

Maybe the mods will yell at me for this but if they don't want to sell the game to you then ... well. You know what you can do. :)

It’s all good — I can’t play every game anyway, and Sony isn’t the only one making good games. In the end, they’re the ones losing profit.

Google something along the lines of 'Sony PlayStation Network controversy PC games' for articles on the subject.

Basically, shortly after Helldivers 2 was released, Sony decided to update the game with requirement to access the PlayStation Network (PSN), which was not available in something like 140-190 countries, as such the game, which people had already paid for, became unavailable in all those countries. Helldiver 2 devs were upset as their game got review bombed (negatively of course) but it was actually Sony that made it necessary, not them. After a huge backlash from the gaming community, Sony has reversed the restriction ... somewhat, but it still remains in effect.

As for your question, I can't confirm but I did hear people say that if you create a PSN profile for a PSN allowed country (make the country US or something, even though you are in Vietnam), then you only have to find a global key or a site that says it will activate in your country ... supposedly.

Thank you. Nice move from Sony, I heard the Helldivers 2 story, but I don't know it affect other titles, f*ck.

Horizon Zero Dawn (original) was on my Steam store, but now gone.

Probably they completely banned this game (and some more) for my country. Guess I have to buy games I like before they remove all of them.

Buy the games at GOG.com and you never need to think about "revoked licenses" because you buy there the game and not only the license as on steam.
So gog can't take something away, as steam do it "all the time".

This isn't about a store taking away games from people who own them. If Sony should decide that GOG can't sell games in a list of countries anymore, they won't act any different or better than Steam.

Yeah, like Golwar mentioned, I mean they simply don’t let me buy or activate the game in my country anymore. As for Sony, I don’t think they’ll go as far as revoking keys—doing that would really hurt their reputation.

Thankfully, for the affected countries, they can vote with their wallets - Sony don't add Denuvo (DRM) to their games, so as soon as they release on PC they are pirated and available on torrents, no achievements or cloud saves, etc but you can at least play it while giving Sony the bird (middle finger).

^ I do not endorse or condone piracy, I'm just stating that countries affected by the PSN ban have resorted to this.

I'll just keep my base game, won't give them any point for a stupid remaster

Not a great deal for me unfortunately. The lowest price in my region for Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition was 13200 won- less, than $10. Now it's 50280 won, and I can't even buy it without a remaster upgrade.. Anyway, thank you for the info.

It's 6€ for me but I'll still refuse to buy the remaster; simply because the OG release did not need a remaster at all.

I didn't even know there already was a remaster... why? The original game ran nicely and looked great.
I guess the discounted price if you already own the game shows just how few they sold.
It's 6 euros exactly in Europe btw if anyone's interested.

I didn't know about it either, I looked at comparison videos and the remaster definitely looks better, they kept mentioning forbidden west so it sounds like they took all the improvements they made with forbidden west and brought it back to the 1st game for an even better user experience.

I also checked out a comparison video and while I agree the remaster looks "better", there was so little room for improvement, it's really just gilding the lily.
I think there are games from the Playstation roster that would much deserve and need remasters and will never get them, which is a shame.

Just FYI, the discounted price if you already own the previous version, has been there and that cheap since the remaster released, so it isn't because of how many they sold.

And of course as previous posts mention, they slapped the PSN requirement in it as well, another reason for the re-release.

Sony is always doing this. They release remasters for recent games even if they don't need it just to get more cash.
