Today I noticed that Enhanced Steam wasn't working. Chrome automatically disabled it because it requires new permissions.

In its own words:
"It can now:

  • Read and change your data on all steampowered.com sites, steamcommunity.com and store.steampowered.com"

I know that permissions on Chrome addons and Android apps tend to sound a lot more frightening than they actually are. That said, the words "change your data" worried me a tiny bit. Does this just mean that it changes how the web page displays? Or am I actually giving it permission to change things within my account? I'm expecting it to be the former, but the latter would be quite worrisome.

If you click on the Enhanced Steam add-on, then click the "Credits" tab there are 3 programmers. They may know what is going on.

Thanks! The sourcecode is there on github, I forgot I got it from there. I'm thinking if it did something bad, we'd have heard by now.

Hi! Did you finally allow the new permissions? Have been everything right? I'm waiting too, don't know how to do. Thanks!

Thanks! That makes a lot of sense. Same rights its always had, now Google requires it (domain rights) to be fully spelled out.
