The majority of webcomics are actually quite bad. Most don't seem to understand how to blend picture and text well together and others can be accused of to much text / to little picture. And that's why I don't read any of them. HAH.

That doesn't mean it's not worth looking for the other 10%.

Cyanide & Happiness, Something Of That Ilk and of course xkcd (also not a comic but this a must for xkcd fans).

+1000 for xkcd and his What-Ifs!
Other favorites:
DM of the Rings is finished!
Oglaf (Careful: lots of nudity and sex, both male and female -- totally NSFW)

Grrl Power- superhero stuff... or parodying the shit out of it. :D
Eerie Cuties- yea, yea, monster school is kiiinda cliche, but damn is it funny! It also has a spin-off... or if you count the shared universe it has with at least 3 more web-comics(which are also very good) a lot of spin-offs.
The Pocalypse- this one is kinda more serious, but it's very interestingly done. In fact I hesitate to call it a web-comic... it's more of an animated story... or something. It's pretty interesting.
Oh, and also pretty much everything in this list in one way or another- some depend on tastes I guess.

May I recommend Goblins and Homestuck?
Goblins is a webcomic based on D&D but with goblins as one of the main characters. The art is pretty good and the story is also good with moments of humor.
For now they are having some hosting problems so you might wanna check this in a week or so: http://goblinscomic.com/
About homestuck... I would love to say "Let me tell you about hoemstuck" but its complicated.
What I can say it is a webcomic with a lot of texts, flash and gif animations, some music and a very, very complicated plot.
Not only that homestuck is big, very big... Over five thousands pages long.
The first two acts are slow and kinda boring for some people but as you keep going you will see why homestuck became "popular".
Again, be prepared to face wall of texts, things that initially will make absolutely no flipping sense and a lot of time travel paradox stuff. Homestuck is quite a challenge that pays really well if you keep going. But it all end abouy you. Some people love it, some people hate it.
The art style is... very basic.

I usually forget about reading any webcomics (if you go by any western standard) and look about xkcd, questionablecontent and explosm once in a bluemoon only to catch up to the latest. Given the particularly low information density and the fact you hardly miss much if you ain't reading for a while, that isn't too bad imo.
I have a list of manwhas (korean webtoons) I read weekly.
Aside from that, some mangas more or less, but they're not as colorful and most I read are released once a month or so.

Even though the creator has stopped making new comics, Dragon Tails is an awesome comic. Link is to the first comic.

Hmm... never heard of any of those. I used to read a lot, but I'll just mention one of my faves here: A Softer World

My favorites?
Girls With Slingshots I don't know what to say about this. It's cute and fun, and is the only comic I read that's done by a girl. Also, Danielle's story of how she met her husband is rather amazingly cute.
L.A.W.L.S. Denis is amazing. He's grown as a person and an artist since he's started L.A.W.L.S. His characters exist on multiple plans. He has "Story-mode" which is what he started with. He also has "LAWLS-Alt" which is essentially his characters plucked from the LAWLS universe and put into our world. It's the same characters, but with a completely different pace. It allows for amazing character development and is just quite a bit of fun, actually. He's had a few really amazing ideas that have cropped up from the Alt universe. Denis's weakness is probably his story-mode art, though he hasn't done a story-mode strip in quite a while. His comic is currently on hiatus (he will occasionally post bits and bobs) while he fleshes out the second volume of the story-mode. He's been working on more artistic concepts lately (see the Life & Death prints), but is very friendly, communicative and does what needs to be done. In all honesty, if you could put all of Denis's business etiquette into Scott, Scott would probably be unstoppable.
Nerf-This Scott's art is pretty amazing. I started webcomics with QC and moved to Nerf-This/LAWLS. Scott's art seemed to make an immediate dramatic improvement. His biggest problems: prioritizing (updates and projects), communication (telling his readers/supporters what's going on) and self-value (he tends to undervalue himself and hates bringing the readers bad news, which is one of the reasons he's so bad at prioritizing and communication). He is a friendly guy, just not good (at all) at communicating.
I Am Arg - Andrew is a great guy with a very perverse sense of humor. It's more of a gag-a-day type.
Questionable Content - Honestly, I'm not too huge of a fan of Jeph's but there are moments where his ideas make me happy. Holo-Ponies? Yes, please. Much more of those.
