What is an ideal number of pieces for a jigi puzzle for you?
I'm going to bed shortly, but I am gonna go puzzle-crazy after work tomorrow! I can't wait!:)

Hahaha! (Frostpunk)
Wow! Those Inuit must be a special breed.
We don't even have seasons as you know them. I was 30 before I saw snow falling (on a visit to Stockholm). The locals, depressed by the short January days, looked on with bemusement as my brother and I frolicked like children. I also remember that it was colder outside the ICEBAR than inside! XD
Are you a long way from the ocean or is it far enough north that even that doesn't help moderate the climate very much?

I'm nearer the Eastern Ocean, not the Western one, it's not much of a moderating force, but I am not so close as to just drive over on an afternoon lol
I thought you guys have some snowy peaks in Australia, was I wrong?

There is a small alpine region in south-eastern Australia, but that's about 3,000 km from where I live. That's the only part of the country that has peaks more than 2,000 m above sea level (the whole country is very old and flat, with even those relatively young mountains rounded by tens of millions of years of erosion). Snow also falls in Tasmania (massive island south of the eastern part of the mainland) but that is even further away for me. There is one peak in Western Australia that snow falls on (Bluff Knoll - 1,099 m) but it is still 400 km drive from me and it typically only gets one light fall per year, so you have to be both dedicated and lucky to see snow here - I think you'll laugh when you see the video and photos accompanying this news story - not exactly prime skiing conditions.

that's pretty cute, I didn't grow up here, I grew up in the middle east. in the mountains though, so we still had snow maybe once a year? But it was memorable because they are not equipped to dealing with it. Here it snows and you get 20-30cm it's just a regular day, over there you get 3 and no one can leave their home lol
We did have on year where the snowbanks went up 2-3 meters in places, I think I was like 9-10, it literally snowed our doors shut that year. We dug tunnels to leave the house. Was a great time for us kids, probably wasn't so great for our parents. Here there are plenty of machines and professionals to clear the streets, that's not feasible there if it only happens once in a while. Since moving here, it's just become part of the routine. Walking in fresh falling powder is still fun, that feeling hasn't gone stale; It's the slush that we could do without :p

I can understand not wanting to see the slush. My brother and I witnessed a scene in Stockholm that I wish we'd thought to photograph - a miserable McDonalds employee using a snow shovel to clear away filthy slush from in front of the restaurant while wearing a jacket proudly proclaiming "i'm lovin' it". I also understand how differently winter conditions are handled when they are expected and when they aren't. It was quite comfortable in Stockholm, where everyone is used to dressing for the conditions and the buildings are designed to accommodate them - they were even so beautifully lit that they looked welcoming and cozy. Meanwhile, according to my friend living in Split on the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, after a rare snowstorm, the local government couldn't make the roads safe and simply abandoned the idea of anything opening in the city for several days. There are also odd cultural quirks. Where I live, most buildings don't even accommodate raincoats and umbrellas, even though we have wet winters, and they build everything with a focus on low cost and speed of construction rather than quality (it's depressing), so double glazed windows are practically unheard of despite the high summer temperatures - they close schools when there are three days over 40 degrees C in a week.
Wow - those big snow banks would have made for a fantastic feeling of adventure for children (and not for adults)! I saw one thing in Stockholm that I had simply never considered before - a bouncer outside a bar tactically using a snow bank to deal with an unruly patron by pressing the guys face into it - it was quite effective!

Thanks for the 252 pieces puzzle, did it for fun :)
If the pictures, you find are too small for a jigidi or 252 pieces, you can just enlarge them online.Just tried it with one of the first moebius picture i found, could make a 252 one with it

I tried to resize other pics I found of the game, but they kept yielding that same puzzle pieces. I was shrinking them though, not enlarging

Somehow I have all of these :')

It's kind of you.

I got them on indiegala, I have like a 60-70 game backlog there, eventually I'll put up something you don't own :p

Thank you for puzzles and chance! Solved and entered two of them.
As for the question of ideal size, personally I am fine even with 350+ puzzles, but when the pic lacks details, such as lines and various colour tones, and one ends up having to try out each of majority of pieces on whether they fit with any other piece based merely on the type of edge, then it is quickly more a chore than fun even at less pieces.

I've had to do one of those once, instead of piling things by colour, I did it by shape, and it took me hours lol
I'll try to not create one of those, if I do tell me, and I'll fix it, they are more a chore than anything else.

I'll post 4 new giveaways, every day or two.The train will be the last addition to this thread, I'll open new threads for future giveaways, this one is getting too cluttered.Once you've solved the jigidi puzzle you should see a completion message pop up with the invite only SG link. Good luck to all.
Leave me comments if there are any issues or questions.
p.s. I realize not all examples of puzzle difficulties that I've asked about in the poll are shown here, maybe I'll add more in the coming days.
