The game in question is Gauntlet™ Slayer Edition. I am almost certain I have it on either HB or Fanatical (when I close my eyes it looks more like the HB site layout 😁). I looked through my spreadsheet with revealed keys, checked Barter and ITAD.

  • did not buy HB Game Over, T1D bundle
  • did not buy the HB Fantastic Journeys bundles bc I know I did not get the DLC
  • can't be a mystery bundle, don't buy these
  • thought maybe it was one of the WB Pick&Mix on Fanatical, but there is nothing around that time in my order history

Is it possible that the purchase vanished or can't be found via search because the key was unrevealed and is now expired?
I'm at a loss here. Any ideas?

Edit: Mystery solved! Solution at the bottom. Thank you all for your suggestions. We did it together.

What about Humble Games Bundle: Middle-Earth and Beyond from 3 years ago or Fanaticals Bundle Stars - Gauntlet Party Bundle from 9 years ago?

I don't think it would vanish from HB as I can see my purchases fine.

Also, it was on really good deals on both GMG, Newegg and 2Game(whatever that is, apparently official).

Like I said, did not buy the HB Fantastic Journeys bundles (Middle-Earth and Beyond) and I do not have the DLC so the Party Pack is out as well.
I almost feel like my mind is gaslighting me.

Oh I thought the September version of that bundle wasn't called Journey(since gg calls it Games Bundle) but ITAD lists it as such. What about "Warner Brothers Games Build Your Own Bundle Humble Bundle" from Jan 2022(or maybe Dec 2021)? It was a store mix bundle for up to 90%.

Otherwise, if it's in none of these places and you don't use grey sites, I don't know.

Never bought a BYOB on HB. I very rarely use grey market sites and I certainly would not let those keys sit there unrevealed. ;)
Thank you for your help though.

what makes you think you have it?

I remember coming across the redemption page numerous times thinking to myself: I should play this eventually, but not today.
At least that is what my mind is telling me.

Yes, I know. ;)
I took a screenshot from another game page and edited Gauntlet into it. Just to quickly illustrate how the page looked in my mind.
If you scroll to the bottom of the discussion you can see how wrong I was. 😆

Search should be able to show keys even if they're revealed. Just tried on both HB and fanatical and both allow for that. Have you used a second account on either of those before? Maybe you got it with a different account?

Also are you sure it was a key? Maybe it was from the 4 pack that gives steam gifts?

I'm aware that the search for revealed keys works. What I was concerned about was purchases that almost completely vanish. For example, I bought the Humble microJUMBO Bundle in 2017 and the page looks like this now:

Edit: Oh, and it was not a 4-pack either. I'm sure of it.

Is it possible it was a gift link from someone and you didn't claim it to your account? Maybe search your email and see if something pops up.

Good idea, but the only gifts I receive are through SG and those get activated immediately of course.

You could also try with your browser history, either by keyword or browsing around the time you last remember checking it.

Way too long ago to be still in my history sadly, but thank you for the suggestion.

Try leaving open the hb key library for half an hour. I have like 350 pages but only 150ish pages load initially, after a few minutes more start appearing till i get them all.

My key library is nowhere near those levels and it has been open for over an hour now. Sadly nothing is appearing out of thin air.
Nonetheless, I will keep this in mind for when I get rich. ;)

I think it's not about the library size, its probably something about where or how they store which key belongs to who because it happens in a smaller scale with my wife's account to and she has like, only 7ish pages. The same keys load right away and the same ones take longer to load consistently, which is why I believe it's not about sheer size.

But alas, it's unfortunate I couldn't help.

In both sites you can see in library the bundles you bought. Check if there's one with missed game, if there's a bundle and no game, then they have no more keys and silently removed the game from the library. And they are HB ;)

Yes, I thought this to be the most likely scenario as well. I don't seem to own any of the bundles this game is supposed to be part of.
So, if HB does it like I posted here, keeping the purchased bundle visible, but removing all the keys inside, instead of removing the bundle altogether. Then I don't know how I could own Gauntlet like I think I do.

Maybe I Total Recall'd myself? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe you got it from another website? Jinglejam or indiegala come to mind, but I'm not aware of what has been in their bundles in the past.

Never used Jinglejam . Checked GMG as well a Indiegala to no avail. I might have to accept that it was just a very convincing fever dream.

Fanatical used to be called Bundle Stars. Gauntlet was in bundles there before the name change, according to Lestrades.

I still have old, unrevealed, expired keys listed in my Humble and Fanatical libraries, so I doubt it would disappear for that reason.

Maybe it was given as a bonus game on Fanatical when you spent more than X amount of money (like what they are having it now) in a single order or those red pocket thing? You might need to check your big orders on Fanatical to find it., don't think those game are shown on the purchase history itself.

These are the bundles with that game https://barter.vg/i/2269/#bundles

Apparently mine came from Fanatical and is listed there under "Deluxe Mystery Game" on Jan 29, 2019 (searching for "Gauntlet" did not show it but searching for "Deluxe" does). I almost never buy mystery bundles, so I think this was some sort of bonus or freebie?

Found it! It was indeed in a 2018 Mystery Bundle from Fanatical. The key was revealed, but search could not find the game.
Thank you for your help! 👍

Ok, I have good news and bad news. Good news is I was right about owning a key for Gauntlet. Bad news is I was wrong about everything else I 'remembered'.
It was in a 2018 Mystery Bundle (yes, the ones I said I don't buy), from Fanatical (was almost certain it was from HB) and the key was revealed (I thought it wasn't). As were all the other keys in the bundle (search can't find any of those games btw, thanks Fanatical!) and I redeemed like 4 games from it now. No idea how I revealed them, but never did anything with them.

Thank you all for helping me getting to the bottom of it. My brain is grounded for a week by the way. The gaslighting mofo.
