Or just try your luck in any giveaway. ;-)

Avoid dying.
While you may still win after death, the gifter might ask for a reroll after you fail to mark the game as received. If it was sent as a key though (as opposed to an inventory gift), support could rule in your favor and you'll get to keep the game. Lucky! But then you'll be suspended for not activating.

Pure luck. Everyone who enters has an equal chance of winning. So it's best to pick out giveaways with fewer entries.

1) If there is flood of a particular game, you stand a higher chance of getting it then, as people wanting to get the game are more likely to be unwilling or unable to enter ever single giveaway of that game, as they otherwise would. Thus, points get spread out instead of confined to a few listings.
2) In a flood of a game, the ones at the back of the pack usually have fewer buy-ins than the ones at the front
3) Cultivate an interest in non-AAA games, as those will have a lot fewer people buying in

So I joined 6-7 hours ago and I entered various giveaways, are there any tips or is this just by luck?
I mean there is nothing I can do once I enter, but should I look for a maximum number of entries? join on the last minute? stuff like that.
