All of their games seem to have been removed from sale, and the cards I had listed on the market are now returned to me with the "Valve no longer has a business relationship" message.

http://store.steampowered.com/search/?developer=Silicon%20Echo
http://store.steampowered.com/search/?developer=Zonitron%20Productions

Update from Valve:

We have a full-time team monitoring reports and they identified an issue that lead to the removal of some titles from a few different Steamworks accounts. These accounts were generating a lot of reports and frustration from customers and other developers. It turns out that the bad actors were all the same person operating under different accounts.
What we found was a set of extreme actions by this person that was negatively impacting the functionality of the store and our tools. For example, this person was mass-shipping nearly-identical products on Steam that were impacting the store’s functionality and making it harder for players interested in finding fun games to play. This developer was also abusing Steam keys and misrepresenting themselves on the Steam store.
As a result, we have removed those games from the Steam Store and ended our business relationship with them.
The Steam platform is open, but we do ask developers to respect our customers and our policies. Spamming cloned games or manipulating our store tools isn’t something we will tolerate. Our priority is helping players find games they will enjoy playing.

Good decision? Yes. But bad way again. Everything that works on base of the API gets corrupted (Steamgifts, ITAD, barter etc.).

Since the API knowledge of owned games had been there before trading cards were added, I don't understand why Valve can't just limit the trading cards. I believe they aren't doing this due to technical reasons, but for hiding these games as much as they can (with the huge trade off for all tools which work with it).

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

One way you could check is on https://www.steamgifts.com/account/settings/profile you can see your games count on the left. After you sync, refresh the page and check the new count. But that'll only work if you haven't synced since the games were removed.

If you've synchronized your collection in isthereanydeal.com it also keeps a history of any games removed from your account (but it also counts renamed games as removed, so you'll need to review this list)

tried that, even if seldom used. it gives me a list of 188 (!) removed games but it is imprecise since many are still in my account. thanks for the help, appreciated, but i won't investigate any more :)

They will add all of these games to the whitelist on sgtools soon. It happens every time Valve bans a developer/publisher like that.

It looks like the depots are also removed, which I guess means that the games are no longer installable? Can someone test this?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

All of mine seem to still be up for download with nonzero file sizes. Pretty sure Valve's not going to take away access to legally purchased products - the EU is already on their ass enough.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That has happened in the past, most recently that I know of with Ticket to Ride. When the dev removed Linux support in the newest version they literally removed the Linux supported version from download, it can no longer be played and has been this way for months now.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The devs kinda digged their own grave with their shady practices like "1000+ achievments!" but nonetheless Valve needs to find a better solution for this instead of messing with the databases of sites like this with their "lets removed them from everywhere, even the owned games list" approach that breaks everything.
By the way, anything worth hunting for before the keys become scarce or was it all just a giant pile of rubbish?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Some of them were fun puzzle games, but the achievement spam + bugs on some of the games gave them all a bad rep. For example Point Connect, that is just like Dots. Or the Raccoon Hero games. They were entertaining but people couldn't see them past all that crap. :/

Permalink

Hmm, I'll take a look at tremor to see what they have in stock and maybe grab one or two before they run out, no rush tho.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Oh, and I did check their games list before they were deleted. Seems like they were gonna release some new interesting puzzle games. They were even adding less achievements to their newer games. Kinda had the impression the wanted to improve.
But the franchise thing kinda ruined it too. They released Shapes 7 and 8 today before being removed.

As for GFG, it won't let you do cross-set for deleted games, only same set 1:1.
Cards from deleted games cant be traded for sold value, only 1:1 same set.
