I finally got to download Darksiders 2 and started playing it for a bit. Since I have a gamepad connected into my computer, Darksiders 2 auto detected it, and let me use my gamepad instead of the keyboard/mouse. While using the gamepad, it felt really weird.

So I'm just asking what everyone else uses to play Darksiders 2.

I can, but like, it just feels like it shouldn't use a gamepad.

I played the first one on my XBox, I've not yet played the second but have it downloaded and will use my controller for it.

I didn't play it very long but I used a wired xbox 360 controller and it didn't really feel out of place.

Well, I can't imagine playing Darksiders 1 without a controller... but I've never played D2

I used a wired Xbox 360 controller. It is a console game as well as a PC game, and was probably made with console pads in mind, anyway.

If you are at the edge of the system specs, the controls may feel laggy, even if you reduce graphics and the like.

My big issue was with the camera, not the controls. The camera works decently most of the time, but there are spots or situations where it can mix up a wall run and a wall climb (or do weird stuff with fancier grapple point jumping), and it can also have the occasional issue when fighting in an enclosed area (which can be fatal if you are fighting a strong enemy that can kill you in two or three hits). That could make you question the controls, even when it isn't really the fault of the controls themselves.

Yah, the camera seems a bit messed up sometimes.

I tried both, but stuck with keyboard/mouse in the end. Despite many complaints that it's a "bad port" (perhaps from people that never really gave it a chance?) the keyboard/mouse controls are not bad at all. Only thing I had to get used to was the camera being slightly off, usually during climbing sequences, but it's not hard to get the hang of it.

I used a Logitech controller with x360ce, the main issue was that I can't move sometimes after pause the game, I don't know why but exiting the game and continue solves it. Worst part is the camera, good luck with large enemies or small spaces.
