I found this book in my bookshelf recently and saw that there's a weird code on the front of it. It's not the normal ISBN number that books usually have and I can't understand why someone would put it there.

So I quickly searched the internet and found this NASA article where there's a credit to the exact same code. Does anyone know what it means or what it stands for? Perhaps it is just a coincidence?

Go here for the real puzzle

Stop messing with my head!

But, seriously, wow, that's a lot of effort to create such images with anagrams.
"His Lover and I" = "hard soil vein" = "Herald Vision" = "Alien shiv rod"
Now only to figure out "JQALNFXY"

Or to find more anagrams images! The alien shiv rod image has an ? So maybe it's our question!

Also, "void inhaler" is another anagram (well the "s" is missing, should be void inhalers). I guess the answer's another anagram.

If the S is missing it's probably on purpose.
We can add that all pics have been edited and some other elements have been altered. like the author name on the book or the Herald taken frome another newspaper.

Yeah could be, but the fact there's no giveaway running, the original article from NASA was posted on April 1st and the original title of the book apparently means something with hoax, I'm not sure there actually is an answer ;-)

So what else are we looking for: "Invalid Horse", or "Invalid's Hero", perhaps "Overlain Dish", or "Ordinal Hives", or "Shared Violin", "Heard Violins", "Ravished Lion" or "Varnished Oil"

How did you find it? :)

I hope I didn't accidentally spoil the puzzle (too much), I see you've deleted the GA description but that GA seems easy to reach... sorry if I did >_<

The OP doesn't seem like a puzzle maker and the images took some effort to edit, so I guess there's someone else behind. Yeah SamaelsBane is too suspicious and your name stood out on his friends list was what led me to you. You are friends with everyone posting the images too. So I just clicked through to your most recent preview thread...

It's awesome. You got there through detective work and a good hunch. I removed it since it was no longer needed. It would have been replaced by the next image for the next person to post. :)

The only thing I was worried about was that you had found it via a twitter feed and you're not friends with me on steam, so it could have potentially spoiled that hint that everyone who posted images was friends with me.

The fun thing is that I tried to match steam friends with mgbnn and the other posters (except samaelsbane) so the crossing friend method was not really working :D

Maybe I secretly wanted to throw people off :P
There's a difference in the writing style though, I butchered the original comment that should have been posted by someone else (sorry :(

It's in this conspiracy magazine from 1995 as well! :O What does it mean?

For example, Tewam's comment I added the Yes:es on (and he added a bit himself as well to fit his style). So you adding your own wording on it was actually in line with how the others were. ^^ I was quite sure you had found the GA with the code block because of how you worded the text on the image tag. ;D

It's ok!

I've been battling my backlog, so I have been unable to do puzzles myself.

I sometimes help Nordh when he asks me, and looks like even keeping secrets wasn't enough to make this puzzle unsolvable :(

Nordh is alive!
It was easy after mgbnn pointing out there was a real mastermind behind this. All the images can't be find onthe net so someone have shared them and the difficulty was to find who was sharing them. When mgbnn stated that the real mastermind was someone else I started looking profiles of people I know from the puzzle section and found out all those GA's waiting for solvers in nordh's profile. noticing that nordhbane currently call nordh was part of a possible anagram I just tried to see what was possible with the remaining letters.

So nom let's go for a new puzzle agency mission.

Awesome detective work! Samaelsbane is a mate of mine with very few steamfriends, so I was expecting people to connect two and two sooner or later. :)

Nordh has always been the name of the Detective in the Puzzle agency btw. :)

Well done! I tried nordh and other anagrams as solution but didn't realize that nordh could be part of the anagram XP
