Hey,

So I've been having this problem since this morning I think... more 6 hours.
Every time I run a game (Any game) a window popup that says, "Scanning for Steam game updates" and it does that forever...!

I've tried restarting Steam, my router and my pc! Nothing worked... I deleted the .Blob file and steam created a new one (which is only 3KB?! lol) and I still have the same problem... o.O

Anybody had this problem recently? Any solutions?

EDIT: I opted into Beta and I'm still having problems... this is getting ridiculous!
EDIT2: Reinstalling Steam right now... Let's see what happens...
EDIT3: Now I can't even login! --
**EDIT4: Even after reinstalling steam, the problem still persists!! -
-
EDIT5:** Problem got fixed after a Steam update!

Yeah, It's really annoying? Have you tried deleting your .Blob file? cause it has worked for some people.

General solution (Steam support would probably tell you the same):

1) Delete everything in your Steam folder except steam.exe and the steamapps folder.
2) Run steam.exe
3) Wait till all missing files are generated again
4) If problem still persists, you need professional help (so don't even bother to contact Steam support)

Yeah, I was thinking of doing that, but it takes forever for steam to get up and running again... I'll save this one as a last resort. thanks :)

Possible fix, try to add -tcp on Steam shortcut parameters. Or launch Run dialogue (Win+R) then type <path to your steam folder>/Steam.exe -tcp then ok

a week ago i had the same problem... right click on steam.exe -> Properties -> tick the option -> run program as Administrator (I'm not sure if the name is right, because my OS use another langauge)

If you run Steam as Admin you will get a warning that there is no need to run as admin but this solve my problem :)
